Head to head, division wins, conference wins, all those count toward tie breakers. All wins are not the same.
That’s why cards loss may bite us in the butt. I still remember when they were in our division..

can you be critical of our players ....yes
can you think we need an upgrade? of course
can you think we'll be better in the long run by releasing some players? yes

but when it happens every other post then youre not a fan...you cant be

i couldnt stand Jason Garrett but make no mistake i wanted him to win a superbowl here since well...you know....hes kinda the coach
when somebody, some of these folks literally say, they want the cowboys to lose because they don't like Dak. literally saying that, then they are not fans.

If you can't enjoy a win for a couple of days and you can't give credit to a player that played well....you're a troll and hater. Simple as that. Why watch if you can't enjoy it?
Most fans never played and don't get how hard it is to win in any sport, but most of those fans still cheer and enjoy. There is a difference between being critical and being a hater. You piss all over a team after a win? That's a hater
They are trolling and not A Cowboys fan.. So many fans of other teams comes here to make trouble and then runs back to their forums to brag about it. That is why we have a ignore button.. And I bet people would be surprised at how many trolls there are. Not calling anyone here out or who you are replying to. Just saying. Some people get pleasure from taking away or trying to take from others. Sad really. I don’t care. We had a good win against a lesser team but used it to get timing with other WR..

So easy to see. If you’re a fan then you will enjoy a win. If you want a team to lose because you want a player like your QB gone then why watch the team play. Not many owners or GMs would keep a QB for this long if they could not play well enough to win a SB.

Why are you so eager to prop up toxic people? Curious.
I don't, I responded a couple pages previous. If that's what you took from my comment so be it.

I don't have the time or energy to convince people what they think of any comments I make.

How old are you then? When did fans not celebrate wins? Who gives a crap how good the opponent is ? At the end of the year the league counts all the wins the same. And in what century did they not all count the same towards making the playoffs and seeding?
It’s a lie. Cowboys fans celebrated regular season wins all throughout their history.

I’m usually a guy that’s “independent” and is down the middle. I think Dak can be awesome and then disappoint in big games. But these posts bother me. I don’t think people hate Dak. I think people are scarred from the Garrett years. I think up until Garrett people cheered for anyone at QB etc. That 10 yr stretch soured people on how things are run and Dak unfortunately was part of it. I think the stink of Garrett permeates into frustration on not winning big games/playoffs. It’s not good but I think this is the truth. This won’t be read on page 9 but I think it’s the answer. I think those 10 yrs led to resentment of Jerry which trickled down
Idk. I remember the Quincy/Hutch threads from back in the day.

Of course not. What about my response made you think that?

I’m not talking about people who are critical of individual players or front office moves or coaching decisions.

A fan can absolutely root for wins and be generally dissatisfied with the teams.

That being said, I do think there are people on the board who actually do root against the team and hope we lose each week.
There’s criticism… and there’s incessant doom and gloom intended to poison the atmosphere. The latter is what puts me off of course.

You weren't there, so stop with the ridiculous assumptions which you intentionally are creating in order to attack. I was a huge Romo fan before he even got his first start in 2006. After his 2006 season when he went Hollywood, started seeking the limelight like a rabid dog, and went to Cabo during the middle of the playoffs while stating he wasn't worried about "perception" (which Troy immediately scolded Romo in the media for saying that), I knew he did not have the hunger to take this team far into the playoffs. Sure enough, 11 starting seasons later, my prediction based on his actions and words back in 2007 proved to become true. If Dak did and said the same, I would bash him relentlessly to no avail until he got benched as well.
I was on the old site and you bashed all the time. Here’s what Aikman said when the facts were in
Aikman said he didn't think it "had any bearing" on Romo's preparation but it still looked bad.

"I think maybe things happened so quickly for Tony in terms of obscurity to all of a sudden national spotlight that he hasn't fully grasped what being the Cowboys quarterback is all about," Aikman told Irvin. "To say 'I don't worry about perception,' you better worry about perception, because it's a big part of making it through some very difficult times.
What’s the difference when Dak says I have to be better I will be better or good for the fans throwing stuff at the refs because he blew it. You’re a revisionist on your own history your hate and ridicule of Romo is legendary and it’s still your main go to after a Dak failure or you have nothing else. Your Romo hate is still eating you up. I don’t have any problem with Dak except his choking in big games. PO wins matter against good teams and that hasn’t happened yet 8 seasons in. You’re the # Dak apologists and have used every excuse and blamed everyone including the refs and the NFL. Your post history and comments and insults to members who disagree with your opinion along with non stop Romo bashing 7 years after he retired. Grow up.

I think he's just talking about some fans just not being able to enjoy the moment instead they embrace the suck and want to immediately point out past mistakes. The "realists" are more "defeatists" and go in not having any hope or enjoyment of being a fan of a team. They would rather bring up what happened in the past or what might happen in the future, without enjoying the now. They seem to derive their only enjoyment in the team's failings so they can be the ones that said "I told you so!" No one likes the "I Told You So" Guy.

Only one team at the end will have been successful and the odds are that it won't be us and the "realists" can finally have their moment. I'm not blind to the team's shortcomings or the difficulty coming, but I will root the team on and enjoy the wins and good moments along the way. I'll let fans of other teams crow and rub in the mistakes. If you can't find enjoyment in Sunday's game, why bother to be a fan at all?
Sure, they're fun for a minute, but they're just for holding serve. Good teams win lots of games. Some are gimmes, and some have big implications.

This is a strawman that gets perpetuated. We're all rooting for the team and the quarterback. Only the weakest among us tie their self worth to sports arguments.

I'm old enough to remember when Cowboys fans held a certain standard and didn't celebrate regular season wins against doormats and reserved judgment for the playoffs.

Yes, we were spoiled by those 20 consecutive winning seasons back in the day. But for most of us, it's NFC championship game or bust always, and Super Bowls serve as the true litmus test.

Now, it seems we've been reduced to the Browns. Very few teams have failed to get to the championship game round in the past 28 years, but Dallas is one of them.
It’s still odd to me how excited some fans get over regular season wins against teams we should beat. I also remember just expecting to win every game.

Fake news.

Any Cowboy fan can make up their own mind about the team, if that makes you sad, that is your problem. We are still rooting for our team.

I agree. Some people hate specific players as if they have some type of weird say so over whether that player is here or not. And if another poster likes that player, it's that person against other person/s. Stupid little internet game that we all play like little kids.

In the early 90s, they were automatic.
