Is "Boondock Saints" really that good?

I've heard a lot of people mention it, and I gotta tell you, reading the description of it on Netflix, it sounds pretty bad.

Twin brothers Conner (Sean Patrick Flanery) and Murphy (Norman Reedus), feeling that their God-given mission is to cleanse the Earth of all human evil, set out to rid Boston of crime. But instead of joining the police force, these Irish Americans decide to kick criminal butt their own way -- à la Charles Bronson. Willem Dafoe is the openly gay FBI special agent assigned to investigate.

I'm curious why so many people like it... maybe this is just a bad description for the movie.

Funny to hear you say that Dude.

Most of the Coen Brother's stuff is pretty damn good -- Fargo, Raising Arizona, Miller's Crossing, all good stuff.

You know I really like the Big Lebowski...but I just don't think it is as great as many do.

However to be fair there are movies I really love that others don't think are that great.

I agree. Good movie, but I preferred some of the Coen's other movies, such as Fargo, Barton Fink, Blood Simple, Miller's Crossing and The Man Who Wasn't There.

Best film of 2005, IMO.
So much better than Crash and Munich and any number of other, more highly-publicized, movies.

Anyone seen the old 80's (at least I think it was in the 80's) movie with Steve Martin called...The man with two brains?

It is really dumb but I still get a laugh out of it on the rare occasions they show it.

Not as funny as the Jerk but still some funny scenes/lines.

It's unbelievable and sad how funny Steve Martin used to be compared to how unfunny he is now.

The Man with Two Brains is hilarious, and the Jerk is a classic.

Cheaper by the Dozen 2 and Bringing Down the House... not so much. :(

Two more I just thought of with Albert Brooks, Defending Your Life and Mother.

Great and drop dead funny movie, In and Out with Kevin Kline.

Agreed...I can not even watch him now.

To be honest The Jerk and The man with two brains were the only ones off the top of my head I liked.

Not really a big fan of his but liked those two movies.

GOOD CALL!

That movie has me rolling every time I have watched it.

It is bad when you find yourself laughing at someone running over cows but that scene kills me.

Well...I admit I forgot about DRS.

There are some pretty good scenes in that one.
