“At the core of all well-founded belief, lies belief that is unfounded” -- Ludwig Wittgenstein

"Freedom is the right to question and change the established way of doing things. It is the continuing revolution of the marketplace. It is the understanding that allows us to recognize shortcomings and seek solutions. It is the right to put forth an idea, scoffed at by the experts, and watch it catch fire among the people. It is the right to dream--to follow your dream and stick to your conscience, even if you're the only one in a sea of doubters." -- A Famous Actor

Once upon a time, they only knew how to sail with the wind. Now they know how to sail against it, too.

"You can only become truly accomplished at something you love. Don't make money your goal. Instead, pursue the things you love doing, and then do them so well that people can't take their eyes off you."

Anything Is Possible
Kristine Sa

A crumpled leaf fell from the ground
and landed on a tree.
A drop of rain rippled through the sky,
it had fallen from the sea.
An owl closed his eyes at ten,
and slept throughout the night.
A touch of water kissed a wick,
and lit the candle bright.
Who talks of the impossible?
I say they should wake up.
For bees can very well be stung
by baby buttercups.
Truth is nothing but a lie,
and reality is a dream.
Once awaken, you'll find the world
Is not to what it seems.
To every rule made in life,
an exemption is conceived.
Anything is possible,
if only you believe.

“Beer makes you feel the way you ought to feel without beer.”
Henry Lawson

“Always remember that I have taken more out of alcohol than alcohol has taken out of me.”

Desmond Tutu has many quotes that are absolutely brilliant. Here are some...

"We may be surprised at the people we find in heaven. God has a soft spot for sinners. His standards are quite low."

"My humanity is bound up in yours, for we can only be human together."

"Do your little bit of good where you are; its those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world"

"Children are a wonderful gift. They have an extraordinary capacity to see into the heart of things and to expose sham and humbug for what they are."

"When the missionaries came to Africa they had the Bible and we had the land. They said "Let us pray." We closed our eyes. When we opened them, we had the Bible and they had the land."

"If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor. If an elephant has its foot on the tail of a mouse and you say that you are neutral, the mouse will not appreciate your neutrality."

This one by Nelson Mandela is absolutely my favorite and I don't consider myself to be a religious person.

"Our greatest fear is not that we are inadequate,
but that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us.
We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant,
gorgeous, handsome, talented and fabulous?

Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.

Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking
so that other people won't feel insecure around you.

We were born to make manifest the glory of God within us.
It is not just in some; it is in everyone.

And, as we let our own light shine, we consciously give
other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our fear,
our presence automatically liberates others."

I just came across this quote earlier today for the first time and I absolutely love it.

I did a quick read on John Wesley, because I didn't know who he was, and it appears that he was a pretty cool and groovy fellow...lol.

A couple of more I just read on a friend's facebook page...

"Do something today that your future self will thank you for." Not sure who said it.

"Logic will get you from A to Z, imagination will get you everywhere." Albert Einstein.

I loved this scene in the movie Coach when the player stood up in study hall and recited this to his Samuel Jackson.

Dredging this up because I fell in love with a quote I read today:

Work for a cause, NOT for Applause
Live life to express, NOT to impress.
Don't strive to make your presence noticed,
just make your absence felt

"Liberalism is totalitarianism with a human face." - Thomas Sowell

"My name is Maximus Decimus Meridius, commander of the Armies of the North, General of the Felix Legions, loyal servant to the true emperor Marcus Aurelius. Father to a murdered son, husband to a murdered wife. And I will have my vengeance, in this life or the next." - Russell Crowe in 'Gladiator'

"Yeah, I regret we weren’t on a higher floor." - Charles Barkley after being asked if he had any regrets about throwing a man through a window in a bar brawl.

Nice. I still like the Kristina Sa poem, so I posted it on my facebook today for motivation.
