Felix Jones is now an Eagle

His productivity in Philly will be next to nothing barring injury. At best he's going to be a #3 behind Shady and Bryce. This will be like when they signed R Brown a few years ago IMO. A name that did zilch.

I'm not so sure about that. Bryce flashed good running ability last year but coaches love RBs that can hold on to the ball. Bryce Brown fumbled seemingly every week.

That's why I think Felix, if healthy and motivated, beats Brown out as McCoy's primary backup.

I thought the same at first, but he actually averaged 4.22 Yards Per Carry in games where he got 15 or more carries, and only 3.15 in games where he got less than 15 carries.

Boom.. facts.

Brown did fumble 4 times last year.

Of course, Felix fumbled 3 times with fewer carries--if we include the opening kickoff vs Seattle.:bang2:

Just recalling that Seattle game is painful
Opening kickoff fumbled..Seattle scores.
Next drive fails and we go to punt, they block it and score a TD.

Talk about digging a hole right away.

Do you really think Chip Kelly is going to have this Offense that is going to take over the league? He has Michael Vick and Nick Foles as his QBs. Enough said.

I highly doubt that. You can teach ball security ala Barber...you can't teach Felix to have more on field talent at this stage of his career then Bryce. Hey but I hope you are right...for our sake!

Where'd you get this from? I'm not sure that's correct.

The guy has an average of 4.8 over his career. If those are the two categories in below or above 15 carries.......where do the rest of the yards come from?

Not overly worried about Felix, but it is going to be fun to watch that PHI offense this year. WAS, too. I"m liking what's going on in the NFCE right now.

Those are 2012 numbers, not his career averages.

For his career he averages 5.05 when receiving 15 or more carries, and 4.85 when it is fewer than 15.

The Cowboys have a history of playing well against their former players.

Either way, those are very good YPC averages for a running back.

Im not sure you understand how averages work..

The issue is where the averages have come from. 8.9 Y/A in 2008, 59.9 in 2009, and then a drop to 4.3 in 2010, 4.5 in 2011, and bottoming out at 3.6 in 2012.

Our offensive line obviously has its issues, but Jones fails the eye test as well and Murray's numbers have been better than his across the board in the latter years as well.

Oh.

Not really a big difference at all and not sure it says either way he should get more touches or less.

He was definitely not utilized correctly in that they were supposed to try to create mismatches with him but I'd have a hard time buying into he should have just been given more touches provided he was banged up all the time.

I understand them quite well, although I'm not sure you understand how reading works.

For his career, Felix has 12 games where he has rushed 15 or more times. In those 12 games he average 5.05 yards per carry.

He also has 54 games where he has rushed fewer than 15 times in the game. In those 54 he averages 4.85 yards per carry.

Here's a google doc if you'd like to run the numbers yourself though Pythagoras.

I don't believe he should have got more carries, I just think the career numbers show that his effectiveness did not diminish based on receiving additional carries.

would he be considered a bust?

because in all honesty i think it's debateable for either answer.
That's a great question. So far I'd have to answer yes.

Such a clever response..

However, if his career ypc is 4.8, then how are both his averages with 15 or more carries or 14 or less carries both over 4.8?

Makes no sense for those that understand simple math..

His career regular season average is 4.8

His number include the post season.

It's beginning to look like we'll have plenty of that on defense. We're keeping in mind how much speed the Commanders have.
