Fish: What if it's Gibbs, not Bijan Robinson?

No Achane doesn’t.

The only thing Achane has that Gibbs has is speed. His run instincts, vision and contact balance aren’t close to what you get with Gibbs. That’s not even talking about catching the ball, which Gibbs is exceptional at.

The ability to run fast does not make a RB a good player. Much of what makes a RB good is between his ears.

Sure, this is fair, and I'd again be happy if we had Gibbs. But, if it was between him and Mayer, I'd take Mayer just because I think Mayer does more, and there are a few other backs that I think, while not Gibbs, can do similar things, where as Mayer is basically a 2.0 Gronk. If Mayer is off the board, then sure, Gibbs makes a lot of sense. I could see it going him, Becton, and Kraft from SD State.

That’s cool man. Everybody has players they like less and players they like more. That is what makes the whole pre draft process fun for guys like us.

I like Gibbs more and you like Mayer more. That doesn’t make me right and you wrong. It is just our own opinion.

Eventually, we will see which is closer to being right, but that is a long time after the draft.

It is just my opinion that Achane isn’t close to how good Gibbs will be. I think that it is Robinson and Gibbs, and then everyone else much below those two. Others may think differently, and that is fine.

Sure, it is, and, like I said, I'd be delighted if Gibbs was the pick. As you stated, we just have our own opinion as to who we prefer. For me, I'd also say if we go Gibbs, then we can likely go Avila in round 2 and NT Dexter in round 3. That would be a nice trio.

Gibbs to Dallas is picking up steam. He is a really good offensive weapon. He can play RB or in the slot, and has great hands.

He may be a better offensive weapon that any of the WRs available at pick 26.
And if we pass on Gibbs, be prepared to face him a lot because Philly very likely will take him if they dont take Bijan

He was 199 at the combine.

Emmitt Smith was also 199 in 1990.
That was 32 years ago and he ended up playing most of his career around 210-212. Plus, he was playing behind the greatest OL ever. With as big as players are getting these days it’s tough to do it at under 200 pounds for an RB and stay healthy. Besides the Cowboys need a back who can push the pile and move the chains in tough yardage situations. We need a big road grader.

This makes too much sense:

- The talk is about Bijan Robinson whom the Cowboys are in love with, not Jamyr Gibbs. Smoke screen?
- McCarthy wants to run the ball more.
- Pollard is coming off an injury and could be like Gallup, meaning he may need a full year to heal.
- Pollard may not be with us after next year, and who steps in for him? We'll already have that guy in house if we take Gibbs.
- We have Ronald Jones as our pounder, lessening the need to draft a back to offset Pollard or Gibbs. Doesn't hurt to have two speedsters.
- Gibbs gives you another wide receiver on the field.
- He's a difference maker. You should ALWAYS take those guys, especially if you have a need at their position.
- Bijan Robinson will be long gone.

If he's there, I think we take him.

Yep…

Only thing that worries me is the Cowboys coaching staff.

Tony Pollard has stuck out like a sore thumb for a few years and until this past season they just refused to get him on the field more.

Like Pollard is a legit WR talent too and he’s never used.

So if we draft Gibbs it has to become a priority to get him split out at times with someone who is more built like a bowling ball on the field.

Jamyr Gibbs would just be so exciting.

I think the best pick we can make is Darnell Wright but Gibbs kinda changes how explosive this offense can be.
Kellen Moore is gone..

Now it's McCarthy and Schot's turn to develop and scheme Pollard like an all purpose and utilize Pollard in pass game ..something kellen either not have a clue or did not care to develop as such.

Pollards awesome. Love his game.

But you really willing to give him a big contract at 26 years old?

Just go draft a guy I think. Maybe my opinion after the year changes but I doubt it.

Sounds like Derek Henry.
