Whoa. I'd be all over that.

And I have to wonder if Carroll didn't accept the demotion on the basis of the thinking that his old buddy Quinn would be the new guy... and now, that not being the case, maybe??? Maybe he's up to other opportunities???
I said that a few days ago, I'd be fine with this, guy has some fire in him!

I'm all for trading Parsons because he disappears towards the last quarter of the season and he's not going to have a very long career at defensive end.

We absolutely will not be able to afford him, lamb, and whoever we get to replace deck. Trade him while we can. And no I did not care to fix our quarterback's name.

I just don't want to see him going to an NFC East rival or any team in the NFC.

It's going to be boring failed retread Rivera or boring failed retread Zimmer. Either one will set this franchise back several years and get fired in less than 3 years.
I don't see how they set the franchise back? They are just guys that won't move the needle and will probably do a good job. They won't be detrimental or anything.

Belicheat....
This is the only coach that anybody could consider a “home run” at DC. He isn’t getting a HC job this year, so he might be happy to take a 1 year gig. If McCarthy does well then Belichick goes and finds a HC job somewhere and if McCarthy fails then Belichick would have an inside track to coach here.

not sure why McCarthy would agree to this but it would make sense for Jones and Belichick

I would love to see Dak on a garbage NFC team that needs a complete rebuild like the Commanders…

The problem is, Jerry thinks someone like Rivera is a "home run" hire.

He doesn't see Rivera as the Head Coach with a below 500 record and years of not being competitive. He sees a guy with 13 years of head coach experience willing to come be the DC.

Just like he didn’t see a McCarthy as a guy who was God awful his last two years in Green Bay and who had completely lost the locker room.

Just like he doesn't view the last 28 years of ineptness as an issue. If you ask him about it, he will still fall back on Super Bowls from three decades ago or his overrated stadium as some sort of evidence of modern success.

Zimmer.

I'm telling ya, Jerry has an ace up his sleeve.
It's his son, Jethro. :muttley:

Even money says it's Belichick or Pete Carroll.
