for defensive players especially adjusting to the speed of the NFL is one of the hardest things to do. You only get that by playing.

now Jaylon does have the advantage of knowing the D and the D calls and all that; but putting that together with actual experience is going to take time.
IF he's near 100% physically, I expect he will be showing up on Sturm's "splash play" chart with regularity by mid season.

I thought steven jones said they would not change that they were going to bring smith along slowly at the same pace they have been regardless of injuries

He's not a rookie. There's plenty of tape on him out there.

As a fan, sure, I hope he plays well and is what the team believes rather than what I have seen.

But it seems like there are several situations like that.

Chaz Green - Cooper
Kellen Moore at all
And Nolan Carroll

I'm expected to believe without seeing and I don't have that kind of faith when it comes to this team.
You from Missouri, too??? :)

McCourty signed in Cleveland for less than what we are paying Carroll. Crap, I'd have brought Claiborne back before Carroll, even with his injury history. His upside blows Carroll's away and he also was cheaper than Carroll.

Not sure if Newman would have shaken free from Minnesota (not sure when he resigned), but I'd have taken him on a two year deal over Carroll too.

Carroll is just booty cheeks.

It will be really hard watching him

I guess I'm just more of an optimist than you are. I hate seeing Cowboys fans bashing Cowboys players before the players have even stepped foot on the field in a Cowboys uniform, rookie or not. I wasn't exceptionally happy when the team signed Carroll myself, but I'm not going to sit around and moan about the guy before he gives me something to moan about.

Who else was out there? We needed to make changes at corner - everybody's been complaining, so the staff decided to clean house (and open up the cap).

I rather go through lumps and bumps with young fresh talent.

Tired of seeing us ride the wave with guys like Carroll, Carr, Alan Ball, Reeves, Pete Hunter, Derek Ross, MO ECT ECT

It's not moaning. It's simply stating a fact. He's not a very good CB.

If any criticism of a player based on past performance is "moaning" to you, that's your issue.

And any failure to handle that criticism is yours.

There's a difference between worrying about a player who has shown to be average over a multi-year career and "bashing" them. But I guess for you, it's all or nothing and nothing in between. Again, your issue.

LOL.

Classic Fisher. Say one thing. Come back with another tidbit that covers his butt.

He's arguably the worst of the supposed "insiders".

But the first guy to line up and say "told ya so!" when he gets anything right.

Like a child.

That's what I was thinking. How could a guy that hasn't practiced really at all be active on gameday?

Just not how this team usually works. Plus, who else would be inactive? There aren't that many options.

Smith will be suspended due to Mara complaining that the Cowboy doctor withheld info during the draft status. Cowboys will also be docked two draft picks due to them being the Cowboys and Mara complaining that they had an unfair advantage of drafting him even though every team had the same info. Mara finds a loophole in the system, lol.

important to remember Fisher was speculating on these things and its also important to remember he basically said Scandrick would miss the ravens and Commanders games last year because he said he was too gimpy. Scandrick didnt miss a snap.

I was wondering if he was going to start when I saw their official depth chart for week 1 the other day.

Smith and Hitchens were the only 2 players listed at MLB.

The official depth chart is rarely updated
