Former Bears GM Angelo rates Romo 15th best QB in 2013

I did not even have to open up this thread to just guess at some of the distressed outrage that Romo was unfairly judged and therefore, disrespected.

I have never quite understood that reaction. Does it really matter if he were ranked where some think he should be?

Would it mean more wins if he were ranked in the top five like some deluded people actually believe? Do people actually take pride out of fake rankings and such because the team is so incapable of being elite?

Back when we were winning championships and playoff games, Troy Aikman was never considered the top QB in football. Even Emmitt Smith took a backseat to Barry Sanders. Did not care then, especially do not care now. But at least then you could chuckle and point to the scoreboard.

I wouldn't call it "distressed outrage" as much as incredulity. These ranking are beyond silly.

If he got fired for missing on cutler then why did they just re-sign him to a monster deal?

You guys are looking for reasons to bash the guy because you don't agree

And your arguments don't even make sense

And people continue to make excuses for Tony Romo.
He's a very good QB; his talent is better than very good. However, he has been surrounded by 2-3 different casts regarding receivers, RBs, linemen, defenses, and coaches, coordinators; he has been put in several situations to win playoff games or compete for a playoff birth. I don't need to anger the apologists by reviewing all the results.

He was put in the perfect group with Ryan, Cutler, and Stafford--all guys who are talented, all teams that would likely tank without them, all teams who have no choice but hang their hopes on their franchise QBs..............
All teams and QBs who, to this point, cannot get it done.

Tony is our only chance; he makes us better than weare without him, but when you continue to lose the meaningful games and have no playoff success year after year after year, you cannot argue that he's a top echelon QB.

As far as JUST THIS YEAR goes, I'd say he's around the 12/13 range...I can't put him as low as 15.
1. Peyton
2. Brady
3. Rodgers
4. Wilson
5. Luck
6. Foles
7. Rivers
8. Brees
9. Cam
10. Alex Smith
11. Kaepernick
12. Romo

Rodgers was better than Romo this year ? Scratches head * Alex smith is better ? Why because his team made the playoffs ?

Wilson #4 LOOOOOOOOL

Alexander

What's it going to be then, eh?

Jim rated them like this though I don't really agree.

1. Peyton Manning
2. Tom Brady
3. Shaun White
4. Philip Seymour Hoffman
5. Jim Parsons
6. Jim McMahon
7. Tony Romo

Shaun White is an overrated diva! Horrible ranking! Hoffman was excellent in The Big Lebowski, so I can respect that.

In case you're wondering, Jim rounded out the top ten with:
8. Betty Davis
9. Robert Griffin III
10. Dale Earnhardt
BTW, you guys should subscribe to his rankings. He's offering a free tutorial on elbow joints and their placement

And the lack of respect for the team he is playing on is even more.
I guess you didn't bother to notice a 2ND YEAR player make tough and clutch throws during that game. I know you want the kid to be bad, but he isn't. Sorry to smash your dreams.

I wonder what it's called when a guy is able to play through a broken rib and punctured lung. Or a herniated disk. Or when he tries to re-enter a game right after breaking his collarbone.

Because apparently those aren't signs of mental toughness. Must be called something else.

He was wrong, he should've said mental toughness, which is more important.

Too many people getting wrapped up in the ranking rather than the fairly accurate assessment.

Too many people trying to discredit a guy who was a former GM because he was a "former" rather than a neverwas like most of us.

Too many people assuming that Russel Wilson ranked in at number 4 (it was number 9).

Hooray for more disinformation in the zone.
