The Spectacle of this season has been amazing. They do it well very consistently.
Lots of things about the show have gotten a little lazy/sloppy, but it still has the most epic scale of any show I've seen. I have to kind of turn parts of my brain off at the amount of "Fast Travel". It would help if they could just add a line of dialogue here or there to address how much time is actually passing. They go from Dragonstone, To Kingslanding, To Dragonstone, To Eastwatch by the Sea in a single episode. That is several weeks worth of travel by boat. A simple line by someone like Daenerys talking to Jon about "When you started mining Dragonglass a few months ago", anything to acknowledge there has been a lot of time passing to help counter the teleportation feeling.
Drogon laying waste toe Lannister/Tarly soldiers was simply breathtaking.
Jon/Dany are obviously going to hook up this season, I wish they'd put a little bit more effort into showing a "budding" relationship between them. They have done a little work, but with only 2 episodes left it's gonna feel a little underwhelming imo.
As for the venture north of the wall, I definitely think Jon/Gendry/Jorah/Hound are "safe". Berric/Thoros/Tormund seem like the most expendable, so I'd imagine one or some of them dying this next episode. I really hope we get a scene between Jon/Berric discussing how they both have died (Berric multiple times).
I still.. STILL don't really like what they are doing with Sansa's character, but ah well. It's not awful, I just don't find her bits very enjoyable. Now that Littlefinger is trying to F with Arya, I am further in belief that she is going to take him out.
Speaking of Baelish, I am very sad for what his character has amounted to. It's as if the writers didn't really know what to do with him at some point, so just kind of backed him into a corner as that creepy mustache twirling guy. Very lame. I feel like he has some master strokes yet to come in the books that will never be realized in the TV show.
My End Game prediction remains the same. Jon (The Legitimate Targaryen Heir) will end up on the Iron Throne, Dany will die fighting the Nights King. This fits with the House of the Undying scene in Season 2. Dany enters the Throne room to find it ravaged (Good representation of Westeros at the time she arrives), she moves to the throne, only to see snow(Snow) on it as she reaches for it. She withdraws, then opens a door and is NORTH of the wall where she meets Drogo and her unborn child.
