Garrett Has Lost Me

It's rediculous that the Cowboys let this guy guide the offense at all. Especially a top three offense that routinely puts up 30+ points on the board. What a joke.

It's RIDICULOUS that half the clowns in this thread are allowed to post messages here. Only on this message board does someone cry about the Offensive coordinator after we just laid 38 points on someone.

EDIT: may have missed your sarcasm.

He was being sarcastic. I'd bet a nickel on it.

I mean seriously, how can posters like this exist? Are we in Twilight zone and some fans get different feed of the game? Other than that Romo fumble while trying to throw end of the game, there can't be any faults to Garrett's playcalling. Even that throw, not sure it was Garrett's call to throw it, it could have been change by Romo to throw it.

thats the way cowboys fans are. Entitled, spoiled, confused...etc...

I got in my car and turned on the post game show on the ticket and norm was taking a call from a guy who said we should trade witten for a 1 and a 3 because we dont use him anymore...lol

so I flipped to the fan and they were taking a call from some spoiled fan who was yelling about how dumb garrett is because he doesnt get choice involved and how choice is the best back blah blah blah.

Winning and playing well is never enough for a cowboys fan. Spoiled rotten to the core. Always comparing todays team with our former championship teams and never with the current teams in the league today.

Amazing. But predictable and annoying.

I admit to not being overly enthralled by Garrett's prodigious use of the shotgun formation in this game.

But let's be real here. The Cowboys scored 31 offensive points, and totally dominated the Seahawks defense.

How can we complain?

I swear I hate Cowboy fans. If we won 750-7 I swear to God you could come on here and find someone *****ing because we gave up a touchdown, or Choice didn't get enough carries, Roy had a drop, Ogeltree should be the starter, Garrett is an idiot and fire Wade. People ***** just to *****.

I was a big JG supporter from Day One. And it's not some his inexplicable individual play calls that have put me off his offensive approach.

It's the fact that he calls the run so lousy. That is, RB's talk about 'getting into a rhythm" and the amount of plays necessary for them to get that feeling. What I think that means is that the O-line gets into a rhythm. They get a feel for moving amongst themselves, and the RB gets a feel from the O-line.

Garrett seldom lts the O-line get into it's rhythm. It's pass-pass-pass or pass-run-pass but never a real commitment to the run. Which is fine when the passing game is hot, but when it's not, the whole offense is out of sync.

Bottom line: JG is just lucky he has a QB like Romo.

Did you really post this after seeing Garrett take yet another positive step today?

I just don't think they're being truthful. Out of all days to complain about Garrett, and to be turned against him, THIS is the day?? That doesn't add up.

More likely, the person has been anti garrett for sometime and had to have something to complain about. God forbid we give anyone credit for a pasting of a team we should have beaten.

Edit: 36 passes, 29 rushes. 362 yards of offense, including 113 rushing yards (103 of which were from the RBs). Damn the offensive success.

That is great and all, but when you play a better team like the Eagles and you try to be too damn cute like Garrett, those dumb calls will wind up to bite you. For instance, why in the world would you run a reverse pitch to Austin on a 3 and 1? He fumbles, but recovers thankfully, but you get a holding call on the play and it puts you at 3 and 11. That is what is stupid about Garrett. Play a better defense and it is a lot harder to convert.

Yes, Tony should have been pulled from the game before he fumbled. Yes, he shouldn't have held it as long as he did, but why put him in the situation deep in your own end zone when you should be running the clock. That is stupid.

Have you ever thought that against a better team in a close game that Garrett doesn't make that call? I am betting he doesn't. Once again someone *****ing just to *****.

Yes, that was a stupid call. Yes there were a couple of times when Garrett lost the " feel " for the game. I thought he did in the 2nd quarter on two drives. One when we were backed into our endzone, we should have called for more crossing patterns instead of down the field patterns. Obviously TR had the time because he couldn't find anybody open and had to throw the ball away. Still, that happens in every game to every single play caller around the league.

Having said that, have y'all stop to think about that some of this play calls, as stupid as they might seemed to the untrained eye, are actually designed for the following week's game ?

Doesn't the Eagles defensive coordinator now has to spend time making sure his players are aware that Austin could be used on a reverse ?

I thought that Crayton was the one that fumbled on that play.

No way I can be mad at Garrett's play calling today, looked fine to me. If we think every play is going to be a perfect call, we need to have a mental adjustment.
