Garrett just said Romo checked out of a run on the INT

Garrett is the ultimate shirker of responsibility. He's a weasel.

Even Aikman and the annoying Buck were mystified by the clock management and play calling.

Romo jockriders, where are you at now?

Here! Not the sort to bail on the guy after the career he's given us for blowing an audible at the line.

We really gonna call everybody out for everything tonight? Can't we just be bummed by what happened without turning on each other to get a little bit of validation? Won't there be time this week for us to turn on each other and descend into madness together? I think there will be.

For all the talk about Dez lack of understanding maybe its Tony who doesnt have the intelligence to effectively play QB?

Aikman did not say it was a smart route by Beasley. He said it's "Not necessarily his fault".

Big difference there.

its about time. Romo calling his own plays last year per Jerry. Romo changing run to pass like 8 time or more early in the year per callahan. Now doing it again and probably cost us the division.

Everyone bags on the coaches for not running the ball and all along its romo.

He should be benched

Because a HC has no ability whatsoever to tell his QB to stop calling audibles, right?

So Garrett is saying that Romo defied his explicit orders not to call an audible?

I wonder what the repercussions are for that.

He said Romo had the option to throw the flare or run based on what he saw. He threw the slant late, the rest is history...

Did Romo call an audible on the other 7 trillion plays after the 1st quarter too or did someone sneak over and steal all of the run plays out of the playbook?

It was all Romo. He checked out of the run. Dilfer is saying you can't do that. Lose a yard on a run and let the clock wind. Also, once the INT was thrown, Aikman said it was a smart route on Beasley since the defender was right there. Romo made a bad call checking out of the run and then made a bad throw.

Dungy also said that Beasley was right to sit on the route.

Romo didn't audible. Garrett never said that he changed the play. He said it was a slant route built into run play, but Romo chose to throw vs handoff.

If
If the call was a run and Romo changed it, then let the bus roll right over him.

If the run was to the side Matthews blitzed from, then audibling out of a run was probably the right thing to do in that situation. Unfortunately it didn't work out.

Did Romo also call passing plays the rest of the second half instead of running it which was working? I doubt it.

Again though, the whole team stinks. Arguing about who is worse seems pointless.

This isn't an either/or issue. The defense deserve criticism. Jason Garrett deserves criticism AND Tony Romo deserves criticism.
