Garrett just said Romo checked out of a run on the INT

Because it just comes off to me as Garrett trying to save his butt. No matter what happened, it falls on Garrett. He's the head coach. If Romo is making mistakes like that by checking out of run plays, then Garrett needs to take that power away from him.

I agree. The head coach needs to hold his QB accountable. But that doesn't mean Romo isn't the cause of a lot of our problems. Maybe Romo would be mistake-free if he was babied, but the great QBs don't need to be babied.

I'm sure Romo and the offense could have played better, but this loss is on the defense and I'm not certain why it is even up for debate.

Speaking of defense, what ever happened to Jason Hatcher? Is he still playing?
Let me explain this as simple as I can, and I'm not trying to be rude, I promise you. No matter what the defense has done, and no matter what Garrett has done, when you have 3 minutes left, and the ball is in your hands to put the game out of reach, and you throw an interception, then get the ball back with plenty of time, and all you need is a field goal to win it, and you throw yet another interception after changing the play, then it's on you.

Dungy just said the coverage dictated that Beasley was to sit down on the route...which he did....

That's the same lazy throw he made to Revis in 2011. Why would the receiver run to coverage? The defender could've jumped the route and taken it to the house. Tony had a brain freeze

It's all utter incompetence on Garrett, because he focuses on one play, when the whole second half they totally abandoned the run. Let's say Garrett is right on the audible, whose going to ask him, "well, you had the whole half and you abandoned the run. What about that?" Well, that's Callahan...

Problem is, he has a history of just this...

Sure, Garrett is atrocious. I don't know why this forum is so black-and-white. Why can't Garrett be incompetent AND Romo be a choker? I'm not blaming any of the game on Romo besides a handful of over/underthrows that would have resulted in TDs, an underthrow to Miles which resulted in an INT, and a checkout of a run and a poor decision to throw to Beasley (who ran the right route) for an INT to seal the game. Other than those things, yes, our defense and play calling is what cost us.

The audible was on the 1st int and Beasley ran the right route until he pulled up on the 2nd. Also on the first int which was a bad throw, romo had a free blitzer in his face. He should have braced himself... They all throw picks its part the game.

The play calling in itself cost this team the victory but nice try.

Agreed. Just like Washington last year. Yes, we gave up 200+ yards rushing on defense, but Romo had the ball with less than 4 to go in the 4th and crapped the bed.

So let me get this straight:

Romo audibles which was the mistake or Romo throwing in front of Beasley was?

Sorry, but if the defender is there, if Troy said that, you still don't stop on your route, especially if it's timing based.

Hey. its not like Garrett has a microphone on his head that talks directly into Romo's ear or something!

If Romo called an audible, he deserves all the criticism he's going to get.

That has got to be on Garrett, All that takes from Garrett is "Hey Tony, automatic run here, no run/pass option."
I am not defending Romo but common, he is the HC for crying out loud.

Funny thing is, if he just put it a foot farther, Austin would have taken it to the house.

No, all the great QBs need are defenses to not give up 5 TDs in the second half, 3 of them 80 yard.

Coaching 101....................you dont throw your own players under the bus in the media..............you keep that stuff in hose................unless you are a spineless loser like Garrett is.

@SportsCenter Romo has 7 INT's in losses w/ team tied or up by 1 possession in 4th/OT, nearly twice as many as any QB since '06.

Well, how many such games has he been in compared to these other teams. It's great to speak about him having more, but if he's had to play in ten games of such kind while other QBs have played only in five, well then it all ends up even, and the myth can no longer be propagated.

Fire Garrett, Get rid of romo......I'm serious.

Let's suffer through years of 4 or 5 wins. Let's rid ourselves of this cancer. I dont care if they make the playoffs.....they will get beat anyway,,,,

Someone needs to roll.....and tonight or tomorrow.......

Worst game management ever in the entire HISTORY of the NFL. And jerry is going to try and spin???

Foul. Just......foul
