finally some light at the end of the tunnel.

JG will atleast need to reach NFCCG for him to get extended here.

imo.. things are playing out for kris richard to take over in 2020.

In my opinion, he's one of three guys in the running:
  1. Sean Payton
  2. Lincoln Riley
  3. Kris Richard
I think that's why this thing is playing itself out on a one-year basis. Can't hire these guys now, but next year may be an entirely different story.

Just curious but how we know Jason wanted an extension. I don't think its a reach to think he could very well have reached his limit with the Jones boys.

I do. He'd sell his soul for the Cowboys job. I have that on good authority.

Richard on the phone with Miami right now lol

Not really. Richard is the leader in the clubhouse to take over in 2020, assuming another good year from the defense. And obviously Sean Payton...but im not sure how long his current contract is with New Orleans.

love those three options. would take any of them over JG. Makes sense why FO won't commit long term. The options out there are very tempting.

So either he bucks the trend of good year, bad year or he's out.

My question is if this is his last year was his tenure better than Landry's?

I'm surprised Jerry is going to invite a bidding war for Garret's services. Its not easy to find such a "safety net" for young coaches.

What's it going to be then, eh?

This is quite possibly one of the smarter things he has done since hiring Jimmy Johnson.

Make Garrett earn it.

The only reservation I have is if Garrett truly had the choice to elevate Moore and either prosper or die on the Moore/Kitna hill.

If not, I feel sorry for him.

Wait, no, not really.

They don't need to do either. He still has a year left on his rookie deal.

Jerry should play this out with no extension

Garrett is in no-win situation IMO. The team struggles or is mediocre, he's gone obviously . The team does well, the younger coaches(Moore/Richard) on the staff will likely be major reasons why.

I'm not even mentioning the outside candidates who will be attractive to the Joneses.
