Garrett On Romo

He also has 0 playoff wins, want to count the others??? Didn`t think so.
Look I understand people are overreacting with yesterday`s loss but please let`s stop making comparisons with those kind of QB`s.

I wasn't aware that last nights loss was in the playoffs. :(

Romo's ability to learn from his mistakes is the reason why, over the last 41 starts, he has more games (23) with a QB rating of 100+ than Brees (19), Brady (17), Peyton (18) or Eli (8). It's also why, over the last 41 meaningful starts, he has a similar number of stinker games under 70. He's at 9, Brees is at 11, Brady is at 5, Peyton is at 7 and Eli is at 15.

:laugh2: as though not forcing the ball and not throwing behind the receiver is something he is still learning.

I'll bet you Peyton Manning throws on that is behind a receiver tonight.

Name your price.

Unfortunately its the same elementary mistakes he made since he started.
In fact I believe his first start was about the same as last night.
Has he learned anything?
Has he just come full circle?

just stop, be positive for once, because if we does well the rest of the season, and takes us deep in the playoffs, i don't want too see you riding his you know what

so please keep this same attitude the rest of the season

Techmo doesn't seem to have learned.

The jury is out if Tony is actually capable of putting into games what he has "learned". so far no evidence is availalbe showing this capability.

it's deja-vu all over again (to quote a winner unlike these two).

I would like to see him mic'd up for a few more games. He was much more into his team mates & into the game. He knew he was on display. That may help with his motivation & keep him fired up.

I`m just trying to make a point, you are saying Romo`s numbers are in many cases better than Brady`s, Brees, Peyton`s and Eli`s, stats mean ****, Romo has never won a BIG game and the others have, we have to stop comparing him to these kinds of QB`s. Stick to Palmer, Rodgers, Cutler, 2nd tier QB`s, because right now that’s the reality of our franchise QB like it or not.

when did tony battle back and give us a chance to win last night?

must have missed that.
Are you serious or just being silly? How many lead changes were there in the 2nd half and did we take a lead at the end or did the rest of the world imagine that?

Judas Priest, I understand being upset, but does it require blindness too?

He's not someone who is sensitive to it. Hey this is what happened, this is what I saw, let's move forward from it. He's someone who learns.

It was a good quote, but i am having problems with this one line and how it relates to Gurode's statements about the same topic. Gurode seemed to imply that he is very sensitive to it, while Garrett implies that he justs forgets and moves on. Maybe both are semi correct. Guess i'm wondering who know Romo better, his coordinator or his lineman? Just seems like if you asked Witten and he was forced answer, his answer would be closer to Gurode than Garrett.

Maybe it is Garrett just sayin what he is supposed to say and the discrepancy is a non-issue.

I disagree with this. Beating the undefeated Colts qualifies. Beating the undefeated Packers qualifies. There are others as well.

Silly assertion.

Not forcing the ball is clearly something that Romo is still learning. After the game, Romo said pretty much the same thing. When you're on the field, you're working primarily on instinct and sometimes you think you can make a throw that you really can't. You have to learn how to override those instincts and take a high percentage play. Any QB who's confident in his ability faces the same thing. Of course, when it's someone like Brees who had 6 games of a QB rating below 70 last year and 6 games with multiple INT+FUM, we ignore it because we only see the highlights and the gaudy stat lines. We don't care that Brees blew big games down the line to Atlanta (QB rating of 66.9, 3 INT) and Chicago (QB rating of 67.2, 2 INT) because they don't effect us.

I think Gurode was saying Tony is sensitive to the mistakes, and Garrett is saying he is not sensitive to the criticism for the mistakes. In other words he doesn't try to justify them, he accepts blame.

If beating Indy and GB in November are BIG GAMES, then I am wrong but I don`t think those are if you want to be considered a big time QB in this league.

Wait, wait wait.

So those wins are not BIG, but last night in September was?

Does it hurt talking out of both sides of your face like that?

I understood your point, but it's just not true. The idea that Romo has never won a big game is pure myth.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, BIG GAMES for you might be different than BIG GAMES for me, I respect that.

not to add to the negativity, but about garret saying he's happy tony came back and fought through it to give us a chance to win. What exactly did he do to help us come back. Seemed to me it was all about the ground game that led to our last touchdown drive. Any QB could have engineered that drive. I was kinda hoping we would eat more time because it was obvious our defense wasn't going to stop the giants.

November = not so big
