Okay, I read your post. I must say, after reading your stuff for years, I was somewhat surprised that you gave any blame to Romo. Kudos to you for that. I just wonder how many big games does he have to be terrible in before you begin to assess that he may not be the answer here? I "support" him, because he is our only hope . He does not seem to EVER learn a THING. He makes the same mistakes, over, and over, and over. Yes, he looks great in most of the "less big" games, but not so much in the true big games, late season, playoff type of games.
You've "read me for years?" Okay, when was I ever complimentary of Testaverde, Johnson, Quincy or Hutch?
Wouldn't I have to be in order to be a homer?
I am a Wade fan? Show me proof of that. I'd like to see it. To be a homer wouldn't I have to be? Hell I wasn't even a Parcells fan.
Go back and look, I predicted we would lose the finale last year. I post about the post Thanksgiving day skids dating back to 1997 every year. These are homer posts? Seriously?
Or is a homer someone who doesn't share your views? That's rather narrow minded.
There is no doubt I will defend this team and the players when I think people go overboard. I will not deny that. I even will defend Jerry from time to time because I think people have no idea what a GM does. But there is no homer in me.
If you really think that opening a new 1.2 billion dollar home didn't make for a bigger than normal game, perhaps you should rethink your self-inflated ego mandated assessment of what a "lesson" really is. I guarantee you that the game last night was bigger than normal for a few reasons, prominent among them was the opening of a new home. There was also the fact it was a division game. It was against what will probably prove to be our biggest challenger to the division title. And there had to be some revenge factor working, I would think.
:laugh2:
I love that. My "lesson" was about being called a homer, it had nothing to do with my opinion on the game or anything else.
I am not saying it wasn't a big game. It was. No doubt. I think it is ridiculous to say it is bigger than November games. Nothing more than that. There are crucial games in November. Ours against the Packers for Home Field Advantage was. Beating a division rival is a big game, even when that rival is not very good. Beating an undefeated team is a big game.
If you ask me whether I'd rather win the Stadium opener or a crucial November game against a division rival I will choose the game later in the season almost every time.
Yes, I have extreme pride in the Stadium. I hate that we lost. I hate more that we lost in the Texas Stadium finale last year. I hate it a lot more. The fact it was the opener for the stadium can be uber important to you and feed your bitterness if you wish. That's your right. I am not infringing on your right to be butt hurt and pissed off. I am too.
But the idea that we don't win any big games is nonsense. Pure and simple nonsense that is fed by emotions. That was and is the topic I have been discussing. The idea we cannot win any big games.
You'll just have to excuse me. Sometimes your holier-than-thou attitude just rubs me the wrong way.
I don't care. I really don't. There is nothing I can do about it. You'll either like me or dislike me based upon whatever preconceived bias you have of me. I can't change that.
If you think I feel I am better than anyone else on this site then you don't have clue one about me. I am an abrasive, sarcastic football junkie who loves the Cowboys. Those who know me best know how hard I will work to serve any member of this forum.
I take losing every bit as hard as anyone on here. The one thing I refuse to do is lose my freaking mind and act like this is life or death after 2 weeks of a season.
