I just get amused by the perspectives here. Does anyone here know what the #1 criticism of Linehan was at Detroit? He was PASS HAPPY. lol. And now, all of the sudden, he is Mr. Run Game in Dallas? Overruling a pass happy Jason Garrett? :) Just silly.

So Garrett is pass happy until this season, .. and now he has changed his whole offensive philosophy all on his own? Let's talk about silly.

Look, you like him as a head coach, .. I don't think he brings much to the table.

Hey...Garrett's so good, even his assistant coaches are better than Sean Payton. Is that what I'm reading? Because then that's awesome.

It doesn't matter. Win enough games, and it'd be amazing how much Jason Garrett learned in just one season. Lose enough, and it doesn't matter whether the issue was with the head coaching, or not. He'll still be an idiot. I'm just going to enjoy last night a bit longer. And then remember it when people point out that they believe our team never out-coaches anybody. Because the Saints were definitely out-coached last night, and even Payton said as much in his post game comments. :)

Accessing articles from 2007 and 09 :) Misery makes for a busy man.

I like to go back to show this has always been a problem with Garrett. We could go to last year when Garrett abandoned the run against Green Bay, despite Murray going off. How about 2010 and 2011, when we were amongst the last in the league in play-action.

It's not very difficult... It's damn easy refuting you guys...

You do realize you could supply Linehan's name where you used Garrett's right? So LINEHAN is pass happy until this season, .. and now he has changed his whole offensive philosophy all on his own? Let's talk about silly.

I think the offensive line issue is pretty obvious. Tale is that Garrett knew, as soon as he took over, that the OL had to be rebuilt. He has said from the beginning that he wants his team to be a physical team. So yea, I do like him as a head coach.

Its wonderful to win the argument in one's own mind :)

So Garrett went from a power running team, with big lineman, to a zone blocking scheme with agile lineman to be more physical? And that too led by Callahan, the guy he was rifting with last year?

I was saying back when everyone was up in arms about Garrett's play calling (the run game), IT IS ABOUT THE OFFENSIVE LINE. He CAN'T do what we want him to do with play calling because he doesn't HAVE THE LINE to do it. No one (relatively speaking) would listen. It is just too easy to "blame Garrett." So whether you agree with me or not, I haven't changed my tune on that. I thought that when they got the line fixed you would see a commitment to the run game, whether he was calling plays or someone else. We got the line fixed and that is what we are seeing.

This isn't accurate.

There were numerous times - clearly pointed out - when this team WAS running the ball effectively. But Garrett just didn't have the patience to stick with it and would get pass-happy under any circumstances and then have a lame excuse for it on Monday morning.

This team is better off having him as a walk around coach and not calling plays. If that's what works best and allows the team to win? Great for everybody.

Yeah, I guess articles that specifically spell out Garrett's incompetence for the last 8 years, including being demoted from play-calling prove you right.. All part of the plan...

I'm out of energy on the subject Stash :) (and I have work to do!) But I can agree with you on that I think we are better off with him as a walk around head coach. I think the results are proving that. That is no shame. Jimmy Johnson and a whole host of others have proven that you can be a great head coach by overseeing the whole operation. Great for everybody!

Linehan & the oline is making everyone look good right now. Including....Jerry Jones.... And we know he is terrible at his job.

And to put blinders on when you're getting your clock cleaned.

:), I'm very happy this morning. Have been 3 weeks in a row. I think I will be for a long time in the future too on this whole question. I think the blinders are on the folks who hate him.

It's clear the coaching STAFF has improved.

I look it as a group effort. They all work well together. And it is a welcome change.

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap20...y-jones-cowboys-tony-romo-will-get-more-power

1. "(Tony) Romo will have more power under Linehan," Jones said via the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. "Romo was ecstatic about Linehan ... They will be joined at the hip."

More power for Romo and Linehan means less power for Garrett. Linehan will truly run the show on offense with Garrett having far less say.

Jones revealed that Garrett was essentially the offensive coordinator last season, even though Bill Callahan had the title. Garrett even called the plays, especially in the red zone, despite the Cowboys' constant public statements that Garrett was giving up play-calling. That became a problem for Callahan.

Now Linehan will have final say on the offense. Garrett will focus more on the defense, special teams and all the other responsibilities of a head coach. It seems like Garrett's role changes every season.

All part of the plan...

Linehan head coaching record - 11-25. From 8-8, to 3-13, to 0-4, to FIRED. I don't think he is the ultimate explanation. :) I like our head coach and I like Linehan doing just what he is doing. Coordinating.

So far, so good. I liked the announcers' analogy that the right people were all on the bus, they just weren't sitting in the right seats. Let's hope it continues to look like everybody's where they belong going forward. Too easy to get carried away after a big early-season victory. But for now, it sure is nice to think about.
