Worst-case scenario is Garrett's plans would accord with what we had stated needed to be done. Like I said bizarro world..
I love your misery Go Cowboys! Go Garrett! Go misery!

I stand by that 100%. I don't think I was alone on that, even within Valley Ranch. I'll bet there were a few conversations around coach's offices after week 1. But here is the difference. I can say WITH GREAT JOY that Tony Romo has played LIGHTS OUT the last 2 weeks, and that we are blessed to have him. You see Khilaidi, its called OBJECTIVITY. Try it, it is liberating.
Garrett's team respects him and plays hard for him, and that's a great thing. I've never seen the team quit under him like they did under Wade. I'll give credit where it is due.
But that's where it ends. Our STAFF outcoached Payton and his staff last night, not Garrett. The less Garrett is involved with the offense or game management, the better this team is. That is plainly obvious. Even Romo, the biggest Garrett backer on the planet, said after the game last night that this is the best offense he's ever played in (even better than the 13-3 year, apparently) and he gave the credit to Linehan for his playcalling and adjustments between series.
No, I'm not "complaining" or "whining" or "criticizing" for pointing this out. I was ecstatic as anybody in here last night, and I'm optimistic for the first time in years. But let's not go and crown Garrett and give him all the credit when its clearly Linehan and Marinelli who deserve the vast majority of praise.
Very good post. But Garrett does deserve credit. That was the whole point of this thread, to give Garrett some credit for a huge win considering all the threads that are posted in here that continually bash the man. The theme this time around; most, or all the credit must go to the coordinators. But when those very coordinators didn't show up vs. 49ers, Garrett is lousy. Worst coach ever. Terrible motivator. Blah. Blah. Blah. After the game last night, and this morning, it's not Garrett, but those awesome coordinators that gave us a big win. The point of this thread..... YOU CAN'T HAVE IT BOTH WAYS!
LOL... Either this is part of Garrett's process, including the new play-caller and all the picks, or it's Jerry kept screwing him and players just couldn't execute and Romo keeps audibling out of the running plays... That's what you call objective?

Yessir. Its called paying attention. Answer me this question. How many offensive linemen has Jerry Jones ever taken in the 1st round of a draft PRE-GARRETT as head coach? Then answer a second question. How many since Garrett took over? The way you operate is to exaggerate and paint with a very broad brush that skews the truth. Garrett has been about building this team from the ground up, get the right guys, guys who will work their rear end off on their own, and fight for each other. Now you see the thing coming together and you want to attribute it to someone else... WHY? Because YOU are on record that it would never happen. Well...... sorry
LOL.. Romo and his bad back were the excuse for the 49ers... Pretty much everybody said Romo played bad, including himself. These Garrett-homers...

That's a very fair point, and I'll agree with you. I'm not sold on his football IQ and I do wish he had more fire in his gut, but he seems to have this team focused and he's overseeing "the Process" well so far this year. He seems like a great guy and he's a Cowboy thru-and-thru, so I've always wanted to see him succeed. Hopefully this year, with the right support staff overseeing the X's and O's, he will find some success.
Nice side-tracking... So does Romo audible out of Garrett's play-calling or not?
Who over-ruled the Floyd pick that Garrett and the scouts had as the BPA?
Nice side-tracking... So does Romo audible out of Garrett's play-calling or not? Why do they have a new play-caller? I thought Tony just kept screwing Garrett?
Who over-ruled the Floyd pick that Garrett and the scouts had as the BPA? Didn't they have 3 defensive players ahead of Miller in the first last year?
So you admit that we have a pretty good GM? Wait till I tell your buddies.
Ahhh, not going to answer are you? It doesn't fit the agenda. I'll answer it for you. Before Garrett, ZERO offensive linemen taken in the 1st round. ZERO. That will tell you all you need to know about who is behind the new approach.
Tell him where he was wrong. What did Garrett do?
I know we don't see everything, .. but I did not see him coaching/discussing anything with another coach or a player. He is a wonderful cheerleader though.
Exactly. Everyone is very quick to throw the blame when things go bad, it's only right, therefore that he gets his fair share of glory when things go right.
If we had gotten blown out last night would you be blaming Garrett? Or would you say he's just a cheerleader and blame the OC and DC?
Nevermind, we know the answer already.
Give it a rest. Enjoy the win!
Who over-ruled the pick of Floyd?
