Fans have to look past Garrett’s field general weaknesses for his greater contribution as a walk around advisor to our GM. The influences over Jerry in the culture of our team and franchise are Garretts greatest assets to the Dallas Cowboys.
Garrett’s asset is propping up our dysfunctionally led franchise from the distractions which would be in total shambles like it was before Parcells resurrected it from the ashes because Jerry is unwilling to let anyone else run football operations including his son. And doesn’t want a more reputable HC who could receive more credit like Jimmy did.
Garrett’s criticism feeds perfectly into Jerry’s agenda. Jerry can handle and deflect the public outcry unlike anyone I can recall in recent sports history. The more criticism Garrett takes the more credit Jerry could receive if they have more success.
As long as Garrett can prevent the team from collapsing remaining relevant , Jerry can continue freewheeling and manage the rest.
dude, I wish JJ had never bought the team, but I can't JG down for working with JJ
I don't know there's a coach that could walk into the glass house of Jerry world and do better. we have no idea how much power or influence JG has with his staff or the FO, it's probably rather twisted
the calls for Garrett's head are far less than we heard for Landry's ... the mob is rarely right and always frustrated
GMs, HCs, QBs, will always be targets of criticism, because
we all know we each could have done better
say what you will of JG, his teams play hard,
when JG was HC and OC the wrap was he was pass happy
they hire Scott and tell him to run the ball, so now many complain JG isn't aggressive enough
many just want a type A boss screaming on the sidelines
the FO makes the coach, not the other way around
try drawing up pass protection with a RT that can't pass block, a weakling at LG, a makeshift C, and rookie TEs ...
does anyone really think getting that bunch to the playoffs was easy?
and JG should have magically schemed a way to blocked Sue and Donald with Looney and Williams?
I'd have a better chance covering Amari.
we have the highest paid OL in history - they got hurt - gave up 56 sacks and couldn't get Zeke 50y in a playoff game
our 3rd rate DTs get pushed for 270 rushing yards on ground to end their season
is that bad coaching? or a bad FO? a ad medical staff ? or just life in the NFL?
IMO - it's the FO
