PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE logically explain to me how the skill level of a quaterback and or playoff wins of said quaterback equates to their physical tougheness and how well they repsond to injury. I will wait

Please explain how one person's healing equates to another. Many more have actually retired over things like neck issues and bad backs than continued playing great. Plus, Manning's arm strength has decreased and it's only been one year after the surgery.

I think Garrett is sometimes put in the position of trying to make sound reasonable what the Jones' believe. He is the spokesman for the company perspective. Anyone who thinks Romo is a young 34 coming off his 2nd back surgery is willfully blind.

Not young, but not done ;)

I think it is pretty obvious that he was talking about how long Romo has been a starter and not how old he actually is.

The Twilight Zone can always be counted on to go into implosion mode at the mention of our quarterback's name.

Yep! Not to mention all the other injuries he's had in the last few years including missing 10 games in 2010. Now if he had a great O-line that didn't get him killed all of the time then I'd feel better about his situation.

The problem with this cluster of an organization is how unstable they have been with Garrett here. On defense, they've changed coordinators 3 times, and they demoted Garrett, went Callahan and now brought in Linehan and still kept Callahan. I wonder if they didn't have Romo, how much stupidity would run in this organization. I've never seen such a QB have to bear such a load of buffoonery.

I just saw an interview with Peyton & he was talking about how he has lost a lot of arm strength. He said he is still waiting for the nerves in his arm to heal.

The whole "football years" and "hits taken" thing is mostly nonsense. Playing behind an awful line negates the argument a bit anyway. How old is Romo's back?

Now or before? lol.... Sorry did not go to school for a medical degree so really in no position to comment on the severity of the injury or how the recovery to this injury is going. I gave up guess after Peyton Manning coming off surgery went out and had a monster year.

There are many things that you can say about Tony Romo, good and bad. I think we should all be able to agree - he is not "very young."

1) Tony Romo would have to be the second oldest quarterback to win his first Super Bowl. Only John Elway was older.

2) The Super Bowl victory window for normal quarterbacks really ends at 34. After that, the guys that have won include John Elway, Roger Staubach, John Unitas and the outlier Jim Plunkett..

3) Listening to the press conference yesterday, what you as Cowboys fans realistically are looking at is four or five years of declining Romo, followed by two or three years of a young quarterback getting up to speed. That assumes that you find the right young guy on the first try. By that time, all of our good young stars (Dez, Lee, etc.) are going to be in their early 30s.

Realistically, if we don't make it this year, I could see the Cowboys out of playoffs for the next 7 or 8 years, maybe more.

my GOD what is going on at V.Ranch? Yeah, a 34 yr. old coming off two back surgeries the last two off seasons is 'very young'. I wish they'd just shut UP. JJ, Red, Jethro the son...just SHADDAP and win a playoff game or two. Heck....MAKE THE PLAYOFFS and then talk.

Costa, Nagy ,L. Davis , Kosier, Columbo and others didn't protect Romo that well. Some were young with little talent and some were at the end of their productive careers. Either way, Romo took many bad hits.

I bet Garrett is the loudest voice at VR that is opposed to taking a QB in the first round....with Marinelli a close second...the Linehan...then McClay...then the scouts...then Stephen....then Jerry. lol

So when he gets his arm strength back he will throw for 75 TDs instead of an NFL record-smashing 55? You'll forgive me if I think that sounds overblown.

Drew Brees is 35 and you don't see anyone worrying about his age and performance. And I don't even want to begin with Peyton manning and tom Brady.

Qbs seem to be playing till a later age these days, probably because of rules and technology. I can easily see Romo playing another 3-4 years at a competitive level.

You are talking about elite QB's.... they are special for a reason. Romo is not even remotely in their class.

again it has to do with age, Yes they are elite QB and while Romo is not Brady, Brees or Manning he is not some dirt QB he has ranked high every year he has played and age wise he is no different. Elite or not those QB are older than Romo and yet have continued to produce good numbers for their team as has Romo.

For the people that are comparing Romo being 34 with Manning being 38 and still performing at a high level please stop. Manning has always had good offensive lines and for instance he was only sacked 18 times all year where Romo was sacked 35 times. You put Manning on the Cowboys with their O-line and Manning would have been sacked 50 times. Manning, Brady, and Brees have always played with better lines than Romo so you can't just compare ages.
