Garrett: we don’t use those numbers during a game

Has Dak never played a game in his life in the rain? High school, college? I would be stunned if he just found out last night that he can't throw a wet ball with his bare hand.

I don't think it was just a wet ball. I think it was a combination of the wet ball with the cold temperatures and the wind.

I agree. I had other complaints during the game, but this wasn’t one of them. Nothing either team had shown during the game indicated 4th and 7 would be a good gamble.

Exactly. But they lost anyway so all the MMQBs get their moments.

True. If Dak has trouble with cold and wind then we're all in trouble because that's playoff weather

Field goals in the first quarter are a waste to. The first quarter is best time to take shots at the end zone too. You can always recover from risky plays in the first quarter.

First quarter is also good time to blitz hard and shake things up, scare the opposing QB. Force other team to adjust early. You can always recover from first quarter and go back to normal in the 2nd quarter.

Garret just does not have the competitive edge needed to overcome mediocracy.

To be fair. Yesterday was HEAVY rain and wind.

it’s entirely possible he has never played in conditions that poor before.

glove or no glove it’s not a good condition to throw a football.

He also said. The cowboys practiced inside on Thursday and Friday. Despite knowing the conditions would be terrible during the game.

Garret is a freaking clown.
Not defending Garrett, but maybe that was because several players had the flu?

I had no problem with kicking the fg. Heck we got the ball back with plenty of time and all 3 timeouts to win the game. Unfortunately a terrible “tripping” flag helped kill that drive.

I don't actually hate the FG there but...you go from needing a stop and a touchdown to...needing a stop and a touchdown. The field goal doesn't change much.
One stop and a touchdown is for the tie. The other stop and a touchdown is for the win. So kicking the field goal could be construed as Garrett being aggressive.

But a better gamble was not going for it on 4th down and thinking after you couldn't get into the red zone until 7 minutes left in the game you were going to do it back to back times and possibly finally score a TD?

The Cowboys once again botched that situation. Frankly, the coaches botched it on 3rd down. They should have known then that they had two downs to get 7 yards, which means they could have run it on 3rd down and maybe given themselves a more manageable 4th and say 2?

Soon he won't be using any numbers in any games, hopefully.

The coaches can’t even figure out when to pass and when to run at the appropriate times. It’s pathetic.

they either run too often or not enough.

I thought the team would get 1 more possession. Yes, we needed a TD to tie the game. We needed 2 scores to win the game. I had zero confidence the team could convert 4th and 7 against that defense in those conditions in a tight space in the red zone. That said, I had little faith the team would drive the field for a TD. Like I've said, I don't think either decision would have been successful. I believe we lose regardless of which decision was made.

I just don't think this is a no-brainer where there is only one right decision.
1 TD 1 2pt conversion for the win. No way am I kicking a FG if I score a td.

The cowboys lost. So you can’t say they made the right call. If we are being honest.

they may have lost if they went for it too.

But you can’t sit there and post “it was the right decision” when the cowboys lost. You have no proof it was the right call.

By that logic every call made in a loss was the wrong call. That big play to Cobb? Bad call.

When the run game is averaging 2 yards a carry we run it on 2nd and 3rd down with the game on the line. When we average over 4 yards a carry we dont run it on 2nd and 3rd down. lol you can't make this up.
