The Prophet is hearing some very favorable reports around the Metroplex area about one Gary Gibbs. 4 year asst with the Cowboys, and most importantly he is someone JJ is comfortable with (just like Jason Garrett). Gibbs would run the D, Garrett would run the O.
Anyone else heard this name floated about by credible sources?
Thoughts?
Most fans aren't into the Gibbs possiblity at this point. I think this will change as folks learn more about Gibbs. He may be the smart solution as head coach.

Geez...wouldn't want to hire someone Jerruh isn't comfortable with, ie...can control.

The Prophet suggests you do some research on Gibbs before you start shooting from the hip. He just might be the one we've been seeking since the JJ/Switz era.

No thank you on Gibbs.
Don't be so quick to judge Gibbs. In my opinion, we're considering people A LOT worse. Gibbs would be a fine pick.

change their colors to red?.... install the option?....
Gibbs is a defensive guy, Garrett would handle the offense. No fear of the option or crimson and cream. LOL. Gibbs left OU around 1995, fellas. Check his resume since then.

I'd say he got mixed results. Their offense helped the defense a lot, by keeping the opponent off the field, and putting them into a catch-up situation a lot of the time. Their pass rush improved, but their run D was much worse than the year before Gibbs got there. If it weren't for their offense building leads, their run D would have been exposed, as it was in the championship game.

The Saints allowed 4.3 yards per rush in 2005, and 4.9 in 2006.

OUTSTANDING!!!!!!
HIRE THIS MAN!

LOL. I simply disagree. Much better choice than fat Wade Philips or Norval.

Pardon me, Percy, make that outstanding. Are you against gary Gibbs as head man? Who would you hire?
Didn't mean to be so short, but you really are on a crusade.

Personally, I still like Rivera. Jerry may think he already has his HC in Garrett.

LOL. I know all about Gary Gibbs,

OU
GA
LSU
Dallas Cowboys
New Orleans Saints

Former Head Coach at OU, DC before that. DC at GA, LSU, Saints, linebackers coach at Dallas. Former star linebacker at OU. What else do you want to "call me out" on? I know my stuff, junior. Gibbs would be a great pick. Trust me.

Jeez, the guy can't seem to keep a job... LOL...

I know that he went 44-23-2 in his time as head coach for the Sooners, which is pretty lousy for a team that annually draws top recruits... they only went to 3 bowl games in his 6 years running that program, and didn't get a whiff of any national championships... indeed, in each season the Sooners lost at least 3 games...

I also know nobody else, either in college or the NFL, has given him a job as a head coach since then... and he only lasted one year at Georgia and LSU... he never had a top 10 defense in the NCAA stats in any of his stints as a defensive coordinator...

Those are the facts you left out with your recitation of his bio...

I am sure you did, which is why earlier when OU ties were mentioned you said he was a former DC there but left out the head coach part :)

Chuckle... that's gonna leave a mark...

I have mixed feeling over Gibbs, I went to school with him and his brother and both are nice guys. Just not sure if he would make a good HC at this time for the Cowboys.

LOL. Nice fact spinning, brother. No one could have done better at OU at that time, his replacements did much worse, until Stoops. Coaches move around all the time. Seems his move to the Saints was onward and upward, isn't that the usual plan? You strike me as a Sooner hater. Try to look beyond your hate.
