Most fans aren't into the Gibbs possiblity at this point. I think this will change as folks learn more about Gibbs.

If you really believed that, you'd "educate" them as to his merits... all you've done to date is list the jobs he's had... no mention of how he performed on those jobs...

Unfortunately for you, I took the liberty of filling in the blanks on that one, and the facts are that he's never been much more than mediocre in any job he's held...

For sure, he's never come CLOSE to accomplishing the things Norv and Wade have... yet you prefer him over them...

As Lewis Carroll once said, "curiouser and curiouser"... in fact, it's downright WEIRD...

Yawn, I think not.

You may not think it but that is what is looks like. Switzer is great, we need Stoops and now hire Gibbs. Take the sooner glasses off.

The Prophet suggests you do some research on Gibbs before you start shooting from the hip.

The Bear suggests YOU do some research on the guy... clearly, you haven't thus far...

Gibbs is a defensive guy, Garrett would handle the offense. No fear of the option or crimson and cream. LOL. Gibbs left OU around 1995, fellas. Check his resume since then.

By all means, do... just know that the truth will not be kind to your argument...

HIRE THIS MAN!

The Saints also ranked near the bottom in TD passes allowed, and fewest interceptions...

LOL. I simply disagree. Much better choice than fat Wade Philips or Norval.

And yet, both of them have accomplished a LOT more than your hero Gibbs has ever managed to accomplish...

Another thing to consider with Gibbs.

Why would anyone want someone that left very quickly last year only to want and come back a year later?

LOL. Nice fact spinning, brother.

A won-loss record is hardly "spin"...

You strike me as a Sooner hater.

Though I'm an ardent Horns fan, I wouldn't want Mack Brown running the Cowboys... and no, I see no reason to "hate" the Sooners...

I just don't want the Cowboys hiring a questionable coach, and Gibbs has nothing on his resume to make ANY rational fan think he's the answer to the Cowboys' problems...

Try to look beyond your hate.

Try to address the factual, statistical arguments I've made in rebuttal to your nonsense... this feeble attempt to deflect those arguments merely shows the rest of the readers that you don't HAVE any factual rebuttal to offer...

Who would want someone coaching the Cowboys whose last name was Gibbs?

I don't see the NFL going on strike anytime soon. We'd be doomed.

Blake? LOL. He's god awful. He's with Butch Davis now at North Carolina. I wouldn't hire him to shine shoes. My opinions are based in fact and reality,

No, they're not... if they were, you'd be able to do better in your pathetically feeble attempts to counter my arguments...

But for the record, I wasn't serious about Blake, I figured that would get a rise out of you... LOL...

But I DO think that anybody who has ever worked for the Sooners before gets pumped up in your eyes, which is precisely why you're on Gibbs' jock right now... certainly, nothing he's done in his college career can justify your mindless hero worship of the guy...

I personally think you want the Boz to be our next HC or DC. ;)

If memory serves they were just as bad vs the big plays, if not worse, than dallas was so I really see no reason to bring him back.

Well, I really didn't watch them that much, so I'll defer to your memories on that one... but of course, giving up over 20 points a game (BARELY over 20 a game, to be fair) is hardly a dominating defensive effort...

New Orleans 42 Dallas 17

So, because the Cowboys stunk against the Saints, that makes Gibbs a logical candidate to be the Boys' next head coach??

The Saints' DEFENSE wasn't the reason the Boys lost that game, Dallas put up nearly 350 yards on them, in spite of the Saints controlling the ball for over 37 minutes in that game... they ran 75 plays to the Cowboys' 51, and picked up a depressing 536 yards on the Boys... meanwhile, the Cowboys averaged 6.8 freakin' yards per play against Gibbs' defense...

Color me unimpressed...

Once again, your arguments are utterly lacking in substance; even if the Saints HAD had a good defensive effort against the Cowboys, it wouldn't negate all those other games where they didn't play too well at all...

I'm not really mad at ya, I'm finding you quite silly but I'm having some fun with it... but this post was just STUPID...

Your argument seems rather fragile my friend.

Then rebut it, if you can... I stand by my argument, and am completely ready to defend it against your attempts at rebuttal...

Here's hoping you can do better than you do in the following remarks, or you won't pose much of a challenge at all...

The bottom line is that the Saints D was good enough to take a team that went from 3-13 to one that just missed playing in the SB.

Actually, it was their OFFENSE that carried the team most of the year... I've given you the defensive stats, and the best any of them rose to was a level of mediocrity... in some cases, their defensive stats were pretty close to AWFUL...

That offense ranked FIRST in the NFL in total offense, averaging an impressive 391.5 yards per game... their pass offense also ranked FIRST in the NFL (their rushing offense wasn't that great)... they also ranked fifth in the league in scoring offense, at 25.8 points per game...

Clearly, the OFFENSE carried the Saints, not the defense...

Need to look further than stat sheets to have a clear understaning of the game.

Actually, anybody with a certain level of skill when it comes to reading a stats sheet can easily give you a pretty good idea about how a game went, even a game he never spent a minute watching...

What makes the Saints' defensive stats even less impressive is the fact that the Saints ranked 3rd in the league in time of possession... IOW, they controlled the ball, keeping it out of their opponents' hands, and they STILL couldn't rank in the top 10 in any major defensive statistical category...

The two teams that ranked above them in TOP, the Ravens and the Jags, wound up ranking first and second in the league in total defense, which demonstrates nicely how an offense that controls the ball often leads to a good defense...

That is pretty odd.

Normally when a team dominates on the offensive side of the ball they force the opposing teams offense to play catchup...seems most times when this happens it results in getting Turn Overs.

I remember when the Vikings where killing people on offense and it made their defense look really good statwise.

The Saints D bent but did not break all season long.

So, you're saying you want a "bend but don't break" defense for our Cowboys??

Personally, I have a bit higher ambition than that...
