All come immediately to mind. At least Costa got better.

Keith Davis was a great special teams player, Proctor played due to inury and started two less games in four years here than Costa did last season alone, Pettite started due to training camp injuries and was cut after one year, Page was a much better player as he was a decent tackle for a couple years and Hawthorne started like 10 games in 4 years. You'll get no arguement from me on Ball but then again he isn't here anymore is he?

Costa started because of training camp injuries and played better than Pettitte. The response was to the notion that Costa was the most overmatched starter he's ever seen.

I still recall what Leonard Little did to Pettitte.

Costa got better and for all of your outrage he certainly wasn't overmatched during the scrimmage.

If he sucks against other competition and the coaching staff was wrong then i will join you in the umbrage. I guess you are just beyond the point of the benefit of the doubt for your favorite team.

The whole right side of the line screwed up the stunt pickup. (Costa, Kosier, Smith)

The Eagles used Matthews to engage Costa and Kosier engaged Patterson. Babin peels away from his wide 9 position to attack the left side of Costa while he's engaged on Matthews.

So Costa is supposed to leave Matthews and pickup Babin, while Kosier is on the ground already?

He had no power either to get drive in the run game. He was terrible and an embarrassment week after week.

Pettitte was far worse, and that's not necessarily a defense of Costa. Torrin Tucker, too, was a turnstile.

-- David Arkin is the move guard to Leary's power. He can pull and played well on the left side. He's getting more comfortable as the backup center. The shotgun snaps that troubled him in the walk through Saturday morning were not an issue today.

-- I'm also going to give a positive review to Phil Costa, who is taking to Bill Callahan's coaching. He's better off the ball and he's much better at anchoring against power rushers.
