Give him credit: Roy is a beast in the run game..

Yup, I never watch football. In fact, I just stumbled into this forum.

Give me a break. He's above average in run support, but he's a freaking liability in coverage - as always.

Let's see on defense you defend the run and the pass, so as I said, he performs half of job requirements.

:laugh2: Where is the slack-jawed bonehead who said he'd take Atari Bigby over Roy Williams, I'd like to know what he thinks now.

Off the top off my head, I know he had coverage on Lee when Rodgers broke out of the pocket

That's the only one I saw, and I'm not positive that was on him. It was zone coverage and a broken play, so he might have just been trying to stay in his zone, as Wade has said the players should do.

How many catches did he allow tonight?

I don't know but I do know I hate NFLnetwork and Comcast. Roy has been fine and it sounds like he can still unload on someone. Money well spent.

Adam, I really do respect you, but I know you're a Roy fan, and as much as I might be too critical, can you at least admit, you might be too forgiving?

Just watch that play, and whether he started looking as Rodgers or just lost Lee, he looked befuddled. It'd be one thing if it happened every once in a while, but it happens too much - especially to the highest paid player on our team.

That said, on the pass that Ware knocked down, Roy did have good coverage.

that's how it usually goes for SSs, give up a pass-play, stop one

So you are going to trash a guy who had a great game because he may have given up one single catch?

Hmm maybe your expectations are just unreal?

Maybe you are looking for a reason to hate on Roy?

Until someone understands the fundamental differences between a free safety and a strong safety, he or she will continue to complain about Roy Williams until they're blue in the face.

that was the first big hit from Roy I have seen in over a year. Lets hope he puts together a few games with the same effort. I thought Roy played very well tonight.

Guys what's so hard to understand about my point of view?

It's not like it's one pass in one game. It's been going on for years.

The coaches now take him off of the field to limit his exposure, yet in the few instances when he's on the field on a big passing play, the opposing team still finds him for a big gain.

He has NOT ONE pass defended in all the times that he's been targeted - not one. If he was as good in the passing game as some of you think (imagine) he is, don't you think he'd have at least one?

So again, IMO, he's performing half of his requirements for the mere price tag of $11 million.

So just so we're clear, people ask for ONE play from Roy. But when they get it (and more usually), they ask for something more.

I believe these are the people who can not be pleased with anything.
