Giving up on Romo

We were a game out from the playoffs not just this year, but the two previous, and you're ready to rule us out of the playoffs? That says a lot...

Like I said, you can destroy this team in your mistaken fervor to somehow replace romo for the future, or you can accept reality, and accept that Romo is the best shot we have to make the playoffs and win a super bowl, and thus the best way to maximize that reality is to build the team around him, and not waste picks on a quarterback who may or may not pan out, and even if they do, they still have a horrible team around them...

Please look at St. Lous, Miami, Detroit, Cleveland, New York Jets, Tampa Bay, the list goes on...
In reality those three years we were a game away from being one and done in the playoffs. Thats not much better unless the only goal is to get to the playoffs. I know anything can happen when youu get there but honestly, do these core players really inspire your belief that they can do anything more after 3 years of 8-8. They sure don't me.

no im insuating obviously it was the defense that threw the interception. You know, the one that Romo threw, but clearly to some on the board here, it was someone on the D. Sad to say our D was up against a good qb, our qb was having a stellar day, but stats dont win the game.

"Insuating" is not a word and you clearly have no idea what "insinuating" means, but please don't let that stop your momentum. The smart people are getting good laughs at your expense.

Romo is what he is. His time in Dallas is ending sooner rather than later. This team is not a SB contender. The only reason they even compete is because the NFC east is so bad. They didn't beat one winning team all year long.

Pretty much any other division and we would've been out of contention, all 3 years, way before the last game....

We just aren't that good of a football team. I do think romo is good. Not great, but good. And has carried this team......but, any other division and we would have 3 straight losing seasons......

I think you give romo 2 more years.......but u draft the QB now, and let him learn.......and , when or if romo goes down and needs a few games.....u get him some experience......

This game, now more then ever is about the QB. Look at the teams in the playoffs........all of them have great or becoming Great, QBs.........

Let's not wait around.......the writing is on the wall..........

The d gave the best they could...the offense was overmatched. ..but at the end of the day romo threw the int. Good play by the denver player..trevathian I believe. ...but the int wss on romo..unless u know another player threw it

Im not even that smart (obviously) and even Im getting a good laugh.

Smh....my god people. ..im a troll for saying romo threw an interception. ...I got news for you..romo lovers....myself. .while most people thought drew henson wss going to be the qb of the cowboys...mi got news for you...romo throw untimely ints....oh noes...anyone who spouts thruth is a troll...lol..u guys are funny

I don't see why fans have to be so black-and-white. It's either you love Romo or you hate Romo. I think Romo is our best chance to make the playoffs next season. I also think Romo is a 34-year old QB coming off major back surgery and we need to start thinking about our future. Someone got mad at me earlier for saying that we should have prepared for life without Demarcus Ware this past offseason. I didn't say we should give up on Ware, but we should take precautions because he just had the worst season of his career at age 31. Good franchises cut their losses before it's too late. Bad franchises spend 3-4 years releasing and restructuring in order to get back under the cap because 90% of their cap is going toward 32-year old players who are playing hurt or not playing at all.

my point is the loss came on teh interception, if Romo goes down the field and scores, we win, no one is blamed. Romo throws the interception, no one on the D did. Romo did. Sorry, thats the way it goes. Like it or not.

Where do you draw the line with that argument?

If a team makes a goal-line stand after its quarterback leads the offense down the field for a touchdown, does the defense get all the credit because "the win came on the goal-line stand."

You've got to look at the whole picture. The whole picture tells us that yes, Romo ultimately didn't do enough BECAUSE the defense failed over and over again to support one of the greatest games by a quarterback in the history of the league. He gets a share of the blame because of that, but most of the blame has to go to a defense that offered the offense no support.

I agree joey...but we re not making the play offs next season..a qb drops in your lap...if romo goes down...evidence says it will..the young qb gets no pressure experience. ..and some postets are calling me put on it...its silly

I agree with this. Dallas has to begin preparing for a future without Ware, Romo, etc., at this point treating them like players on the back end of their careers and searching for new players at their positions to make them obsolete.

It's a difficult thing to do, though, with glaring needs to help this franchise immediately.

Look at it from this way. ..the defense. .while bad at that time..is up against a hell of a qb....both qbs play their best game...ours blinked first. ..if romo and dallas wins...yes some are going to say the denver defense failed....romo scores the td..they think that....but at the end of the day...romo throws the int....thats not on our d....when romo puts the team in position to win...buffalo 07..that game..fumbles and all was also on romo..but romo played well enough to get the team in position. .if he doesn't. .is that on rhe defense. ..no....the denvet game wasnt just on the d...romo threw that pic as he has a history of doing....the defense played good enough but both qbs played a great game

Exactly correct...so If a qb falls in your lap...nany people said the qb depth is good this draft...why not grab one?

I wouldn't be mad if we went QB early in this draft. I don't think we need to draft QB this year, but a guy at #16 in this year's draft is probably gonna be as talented as a guy going in the top 5 in the next few drafts. This draft class is stacked at QB. We need to draft Romo's replacement within the next 3 years (probably sooner). If the best QB we can get will probably come in this year's draft, then I wouldn't be mad if we went QB early.

One of my arguments I was making....I feel the team isnt making the playoos..thats my opinion tho its been backed by the franchise...regardless. ..u also have a cap space problem. .coaching problem...player problems. ..start the cuts..find your next qb..you got two year drafts at least.....whats wrong with that scenario compared to someone who wants to restructure romo..when romo is going to say...im not that far removed from this contract and you have some defensive pkayers you really dont need on the team

Well, the OLine is better but in the END the Franchise was sidelined.... it was the OLine that ended our chances....yet again.

I'm still waiting to find the oline who NEVER allows a hit on there QB.

Might want to compare the number of hits Romo took this season compared to Wilson, Luck, Rodgers, Brady etc.....it might startle you.

Come on...u cant put every stat out there to defend each player...should we brwak it down by evert play....who had more good line ..bad oline play per snap?

Every stat is not going to save every player in every situation. .romo is prone to untimely interceptions. ..deal with it

I agree that this team is no SuperBowl team, but Jerry said he is not taking a QB high in the draft as long as Romo is still on the roster....................so I think this whole discussion is a moot point.............Romo is going to be here for several more years.
