Only assumption is you claiming this is Jerry move and not that of Garrett

That's no assumption. If David Buehler stays on this team then that is 100% a Jerry move and if by some small sliver of a chance it isn't, then all that means is that Garrett is A LOT dumber than all his backers give him credit for.

No, I will extend that to Garrett if it comes to that.

All I know is the evidence at hand. In camp, Jerry Jones said keeping two placekickers was a consideration. Garrett downplayed the talk.

But yet now, I am expected to believe Garrett is making all the calls and has the final say because of what exactly?

No head coach in Dallas will ever have the final say with Jerry Jones as the general manager. There will be varying degrees as to their influence on his final decisions, but ultimately those who honestly think that he has complete carte blanche are complete imbeciles.

You are going to believe what you choose. You think Jerry is making all the calls fine I disagree. I would just say be consistent if your going to say Jerry is making this call then give him the credit for the moves you do agree with instead of picking and choosing.

As for the last statement goes we don't need the calling of people imbeciles because they do not view this as you do.

I don't think there should be 2 kickers on the roster.

But the point remains that there is zero evidence that Jerry is making this call against the wishes of his coaching staff.

There is no evidence at all. Yet you are taking the opposite pole. Usually the truth is in the middle, but Jones will ultimately decide who stays and goes.

For some reason Buehler is all of a sudden some pet of Jerry and he is keeping him over the objections of Garrett, please explain why this makes any sense whatsoever.

Jerry Jones has gone on record how important he views Buehler's skills and how he wants the ball kicked out of the endzone. Call me crazy, but to me that sounds like he has a preference that he would be around and on the roster. This would not be the first time he vetoed a head coach. Nor will it be the last. I go off of the man's established track record. What do you have to support your view that Jerry Jones is just hands off? Wishful thinking?

Because you say so? Give me a break. :laugh2:

This is what makes this argument laughable you get to determine which moves are Jerry and Which one is Garrett.

If Garrett is the football guy everyone thinks he is, and hell..that to an extent, I think he is, then there's no way he keeps two kickers on the roster, especially one who can literally do nothing but kick off.

Jerry was gushing over Beuhler all offseason. He gets off on Buehler's long kickoffs and some wacky dream he has of him someday knocking in a 65 yarder or something. There's no way in hell he's still on this team if it's totally Garrett's decision.

Jerry doesn't want the 2009 draft to get any worse than it already is, hence the wasted roster spot. Pride goeth ...

You don't know that. You have an opinion that is all it is. Was it Jerry or Garrett who brought in kicker after kicker this pre season?

As for keeping 2 kickers not the 1st time that has been done and is still done by other teams. I'm no fan of keeping 2 kickers but excuse me if I'm not in your little conspiracy group.

As far as I’m concerned Garrett can make any move he wants I’m interested in the end product not how you get there

Yes, Garrett brought in kicker after kicker to find a good one and then he found one and he's our starter.

So why is the other guy still around?

You call it an opinion - I call it an extremely educated guess.

Only an idiot would think keeping two kickers is a good idea. Garrett isn't an idiot.

Yes, it is completely laughable when you consider the available evidence.

On one hand, we have the owner/GM who has gone on record to voice his desire to have a kicker on the roster who can do what Buehler can do.

On the other hand, we have a head coach who has suggested nothing like that.

No NFL team has two kickers on their roster right now unless there is a legitimate injury to their normal kicker. New Orleans has been carrying John Kasey because of injury. The Raiders just picked up Dave Rayner because Janikowski is hurt.

Try again.

Had the rules not been revised to render touchbacks practically common place, keeping a specialist made sense.

Now, there is absolutely zero sense to the idea. Especially when Bailey has been hitting a few.

It is almost like we have someone in charge (could be Jerry Jones, could be Jason Garrett, we don't know! ) that has yet to understand how the game is now played.

I think Buehler is still being groomed to be this team's long-term kicker. Wouldn't be surprised to see them re-open the kicking competition next training camp to see if Buehler can win it. The pressure will continue to be on Dan Bailey, unfortunately for him.

You can call it what you like but it is still just your opinion. As for 2 kickers it is not a new idea others have done so as well. I'm not a fan of it but I'm not going to get my panties in a bunch over it

What teams are carrying two kickers when the main FG kicker isn't injured?
