Grasping for straws: Randy Gregory

If Gregory found a doctor who would go on record saying weed is the best treatment for his anxiety, then....
  1. He would have a prescription for it
  2. With the approved medical prescription, he wouldn't be tested for it by the NFL
However, neither is the case, as far as I know.

Please. Many reports of his illness. Stop being ignorant. Here's two. Please ironically attack me.

ease up on his character...

neither of these are reports of his illness, just speculation.

can i speculate that you like to roll up and smoke the lint out of rosanne barrs belly button and make it true?

btw - you need to cut that out.

Yeah, save for repeated reports of either bipolar or social anxiety disorder (more likely the latter).

But hey, way to look up ad hominem and use it in a sentence. Now look up irony.

Social Anxiety Disorder.

to this day and til the day i die i'm going to think this is a joke diagnosis. why? cause it spells SAD.

many people are simply not comfortable around others. they're called introverts usually. cest moi.

while we're looking up words....

Dude. He doesn't have an "act."

He has an illness that for most of his life he's treated with weed.

I'm sick of people on this board treating mental illness like it is some character flaw. Get educated.

And I'm sick of people treating the problem's cause as if they're the victim.

This behavior doesn't have a damn thing to do with "mental illness". If it did, Gregory is well aware that his 'personal prescription' is unacceptable if he wants to play in the NFL.

I'm not saying your wrong, but how do we know it's mental illness? Because someone said so or has the medical community, the team, the player and others stated as well? I understand pain being a reason one may smoke, but mental illness? Why just weed and not cocaine or alcohol? I'm not educated on this matter, so again I am merely asking. Any links you have would be appreciated and I i will happily read them.

Preach sir...Preach.

You nailed it with this last line Stash, even if Gregory has a legitimate mental illness which is pure speculation by some, you can not treat it properly with any degree of success with a personal prescription of reefer and further drug use can actually make the condition worse in fact.

Let alone Gregory is well aware that this self-medicating approach is unacceptable by NFL rules regardless.

Tell that to DeMarcus Lawrence.

Simply being uncomfortable around others is a far cry from what someone with Social Anxiety Disorder actually experiences.

Again ....... the players themselves are the ones who put this rule in place through their representation (who they voted in)

You can rail and rail about how the rule needs to change ........ but it does not change the fact that the players signed the contracts knowing this rule is there and somehow you think its unfair when they are punished for breaking it over and over again.

The Drug Policy was also modified since the last CBA to the player's benefit....they raised the levels required to a positive test and lessened the penalties......a 4 game suspension requires 4 failed tests

Either way Gregory knows the rules and continues to break them....that means he is now unreliable and we will move away from him if we are smart...we have 2 more years of cheap contracts with him but after that I would walk away...this a football team and not an NA group

100%. Weed isn't meth.

Again with the "act" schtick.

Dude is sick.

Folks on this board are igorant.

That's a load of crap and nothing more than an excuse for most potheads or other drug uses. I get tired of hearing addiction is an illness. ********!! Cancer is an illness. Drug addiction is a lifestyle choice, and a completely irresponsible one at that. But, what ever makes you feel better about yourself.

But it is illegal in the million dollar contract they sign ..... if they want the money they have to obey the rules.

there it is.....Gregory is smoking some of the most expensive weed in the world...it has already cost him millions and will probably prevent him from signing a second contract

Exactly. In California you can get a medical prescription for marijuana by saying you have "stress" or anxiety - and you can do it online.

Even if he lived in cali and got a prescription......that does not exclude him from testing.

You can't be in the medical field either, legal or not.
