In '16, they caught an easy schedule, then got beat in the playoffs by a team that was behind, 31-0, the next week early in the game because their entire secondary and linebacker corp was decimated.

Last year, when he led the NFL in pick-sixes, he barely beat the Eagles' third-stringers to get that meaningless 9th win. Six touchdowns and 9 interceptions in the last eight games. Dreadful.

There you go.
Packers were a horrible pass defense in 2016.

Horrible take.

Prescott tore up Green Bay in the playoff game and you think Prescott was "solved" by the end of the '16 season?

He was good the first half of the '17 season.

Then the wheels fell off. Much of the "credit" for that could be attributed to the performance of the offensive line and the suspension of the Elliott.
Green Bay was missing its entire secondary to injury, as well as two starting linebackers.

The next week, Atlanta was beating Green Bay, 31-0, early in the 2nd quarter.

Last year was an unmitigated disaster, and no, it wasn't all Dak's fault at all. He was as much a victim as a reason.

So if Herd is right, Dak is surrounded by the best, and therefore we should go far in the playoffs

Do I think the last 8 games of '17 were good?

Absolutely not.

As far as the "easy schedule".

Support that premise with some kind of statistical support.

You'll never give Prescott any credit at all.

That's fine.

He'll probably be starting for Dallas for the next 5 years (at least).

It will be nice reading your rants week after week for the next several years.

That was an easy schedule as it turned out.

And once the league figured out what Dak didn't like to do, he was quickly solved by season's end.

Now, he's working to solve his deficiencies to back these defenses off. I still don't know why Philly insisted on going one-on-on with Cooper yesterday with those scrap heap corners.
Hogwash. How did the league figure out Dak by season's end?
He was 24-38 for 302 yds and 3 td in the playoff game. He certainly played well enough to win.

How smart is Dak?

1)28 mill, average support = below average team
2)21-25 mill, good support = average and occasionally making playoffs.
3)15-20 mill, great support = SB contender for the next 7-10 years.

15 million, 28 million, either one is a CRAPLOAD of money. It all comes down to ego and common sense. Personally, I’d settle for 15 if it ensured a winning team.

I would say almost every QB needs talent around them. Rodgers doesn’t look very good this year. Brady doesn’t look as good when Gronk doesn’t play. Everyone said Romo couldn’t win the big games because of his defense. Colin isn’t saying much here because every QB needs lots of help.

When it was 2016 we were winning with Dak. We didn't have a great defense. So this thing about Dak being pretty average is bogus.

For the last time, look at that game.

Green Bay was missing it's entire secondary and linebacking corp. They were behind one week later, 31-0, barely into the 2nd quarter.

Dallas should have won that game easily, but Dak was terrible the first half, and the defense was awful.

So you're asking him to take $100 million less over time so he can win football games?

Most wouldn't do that. We'll see.

Look at all the supposed "high talent" QB's that are leading their teams to losing records this season:

-Rodgers
-Stafford
-Ryan

Prescott has a better record this season than "Big Ben" too.

Top 3 RB
Top 5 WR
Top 10 OL
Top 3 Defense

QB?

That’s what he is saying. With all that, we (the QB) almost found a way to lose. We have no excuses and the QB shouldn’t have any either.

We love clutch throws but the difference is we shouldn’t have needed Dak to be clutch with everything that has been stated. We can win with Dak but Dak needs the team more than they need him at this point.

If you can win a SB with Nick Foles in your stretch run, you can win one with Dak. He’s just got to smooth out the edges. Drive killing sacks, missing open guys for TDS, putting the ball on the ground... Those things won’t get it done in LA and / or in NO. But Dak has shown he can avoid those things in short stretches. If he can figure out how to put together 4 quarters of not doing them this team can be scary good.

Nick Foles lit up the Patriots in the Super Bowl. I've yet to see Dak consistently light up a defense for 4 quarters.

Re: Cowherd: I suspect that whatever “self-awareness” Dak has, he will have an agent who will smartly make him snap out of it...
