Lol there were quite a few chick flicks but he was always a solid actor, even in them.

Well whoever cast him in the Joker role from with just his previous chick flicks and gay cowboy movies was a genius.

He was always good to me in the movies I have seen of his but he was absolutely brilliant as the Joker. He made that movie..

I was going to go see the movie tomorrow but think I will hold off for awhile. I just am not sure I could enjoy it right now. Shame when incidents like this mess with one's mind. Cowardly girl here...

I'm not big on our process of capital punishment, but none of those issues will be in play here. I expect he will go down, and I have to agree with that.

His lawyers' only hope will be some sort of mental illness defense, but the planning behind this horrible crime will pretty much negate that in any reasonable juror's mind.

I really don't understand why this would scare off anyone, or why they are bumping up police at some cities. I heard Plano(a city in case anyone doesn't know) is putting out a lot more police on release day, but Arlington, isn't.

I wonder if a story will come out about someone who was in the movie theatre was also in columbine during that shooting. That would be horrible but the school is only 15 miles away.
One gal who died in the shooting was a survivor of a shooting in Toronto just recently.

I was thinking about this on my lunch break. This guy reportedly dyed his hair red and called himself the ‘Joker’. Heath Ledger reportedly was greatly depressed and effected from playing the roll of the ‘Joker’ before his death. Do you think Nolan’s homicidal ‘Joker’ could one of the most disturbing and negatively influential villains ever created? I’m by no means implying that anyone else is responsible for either’s actions, but It just made me think…
The new Holden Caulfield? Interesting.

As difficult as it not to be affected by an event like this, keep in mind that violent crime in this country has been on the decline for the past 20 years.

This alone doesn't change that.

I wonder if even as violent crime in geneal has declined, if their has been an increase in the rate of large-scale shootings like this.

Good question. What's interesting is that Europe has also seen a high number of large-scale shootings in recent years.
