I was thinking about this on my lunch break. This guy reportedly dyed his hair red and called himself the ‘Joker’. Heath Ledger reportedly was greatly depressed and effected from playing the roll of the ‘Joker’ before his death. Do you think Nolan’s homicidal ‘Joker’ could one of the most disturbing and negatively influential villains ever created? I’m by no means implying that anyone else is responsible for either’s actions, but It just made me think…

Might be some more time before we get the true number.

I have heard different numbers for people being shot...so who knows at this point.

Very true. The chief was throwing that number out but he also said it was an active ongoing crime scene.

May have been mentioned here already, but I would worry about copycats around the country.

It's just a character in my opinion.

Somehow Anthony Hopkins didn't turn into a cannibal. That was one of the most disturbing villains I can remember.

If that was one of the true reasons why Ledger went into his depressed state, his mental fortitude was severely lacking.

I see your point though. Those that are heavily influenced by media could take all of this literally, I guess.

I'm not going to get into on here but Heath Ledger died because of the mixing of prescribed medication. That's a doctors fault or a pharmacies fault. He probably didnt even know certain medications couldnt be mixed.

Everyone gets depressed at some point in their life though.

Yeah, I don’t know if I put my thinking into words effectively, but it just seems like this character could have a abnormal effect on weak people. Ledger b/c of his drug problem and this guy b/c he is obviously nuts.

Well. What I don't understand is the "red hair like the joker". I'm fairly confident the jokers hair wasn't red.

No, not at all. Go ahead and keep living in your dream there dude. You make me sick.

You have no idea what kind of firearms training I've had, get your pro gun control BS out of here.
Sorry to hurt your feelings Sir. For the record I am not in favor of this gun control BS you refer to. What I am not in favor of is people walking around with a short fused Clyde Barrow mentality with a loaded gun strapped the their thigh thinking they are the answer to situations like this. I am convinced of is if you and ten other outstanding citizens had been there with loaded guns in that theater there would be a lot more dead people (the gunman not being one of the) and you and I would not be having this conversation.

Again, sorry to offend your pride Sir. ;)

Did they catch the guy?

He stopped shooting after a while, like 2 minutes and waited, then the cops came in about 5 minutes and they arrested him.

I think Heath was physically fatigued by the demands of the role & it was a dark character. It would be hard for anyone to play that character & not take some of that home. I thought he was brilliant.

There is no doubt about that. But the pills are what killed him. It was a mixture of pills that shouldn't be taken together if I remember correctly.

Maybe you should ask the families of the victims their thoughts on this. ;)

You are making one hell of a lot of assumptions to form your opinion.

I guess we all speak from our own minds... so to speak. ;)

You're right. He's one of the actors I think about occasionally and wonder what more he could have done in his career. He blew me away in that role.

Sorry to hijack the thread..

Lol there were quite a few chick flicks but he was always a solid actor, even in them.
