I don't care how eager Dez is or our fan base to get him back asap I just want him ready to go for the playoffs. I have a feeling without dez we'll be there so I feel there is no need to rush him.

I don't see a correlation between a scrub and Dez Bryant.

Shouldn't we use an elite WR like Julio Jones as an example?

Pretty sure he had same injury, except more severe. And he LIT up the Beagles last night.

Nicks was no scrub. In fact in 2010 and 2011 he was one of the rising stars in the NFL. The Jones fracture in his foot made him a scrub. Yes we should be worried.

Julio seems to be the exception rather that the rule. Dez struggled to get separation even when fully healthy. Julio is a much more explosive athelete.

"seems to be" is so concrete.... I'll take those struggle 16 TDs any season...

Hakeem Nicks is a lazy pot head. Dez eats, drinks and sleeps football. One is determined the other is not. Having said that I hope we sign Nicks to fill Dezs shoes for half a season because the guy still is pretty talented.

AP tore his knee up and was never the same player.

Assuming that you want to ignore his MVP trophy the year after anyway.

Anyone not concerned is kidding themselves. There is a good chance he won't be back this year.

You should take another look at our schedule, paying special attention to how each team looked in week 1. The 4-5 games I thought would be easy wins no longer look easy at all especially without Dez. Every game is going to be a dogfight and its tough to keep winning each week under those circumstances. This looks to be the hardest schedule I can ever remember.

Hakeem Nicks was well on his way to becoming a top 5 WR in the NFL before he suffered the same injury Dez has. I know most people aren't concerned with this injury but after doing more research about it I am more concerned than ever

ESPN's Dr. Mark Adickes said 4-6 weeks was an aggressive timeframe, and a more likely timeframe for Dez Bryant's recovery is 8-12 weeks.

When Hakeem Nicks broke fifth metatarsal in his right foot in May 2012, initial timetable from Giants for recovery: 12 weeks. #Dez

he had a lot more issues than just that.

Excuse my ignorance but what's the difference between the two and how long does both injuries affect a player?
The prognosis of 4-6 weeks would be typical of a mid-shaft fracture. The avulsion fracture would be a shorter recovery, while the Jones fracture could be quite a bit more (depends on the blood flow) and also has potential for complications. Kevin Durant had to have a bone graft.

2010 - 79 receptions, 1,052 yards, 11 TDs, and 13.3 YAC
2011 - 76 receptions, 1,192 yards, 7 TDs, and 15.7 YAC

He was injured in 2012, but came back in 2013 with 56 receptions, 896 yards and 16.0 YAC. The only thing down that year was his receptions and he didn't score. If he had the same amount of receptions, he would have had the same production he had in 2010 and 2011.

The guy simply just wasn't a great receiver. A good one? Sure. But acting like he was going to be anywhere near Bryant or Jones is crazy talk.

I'll take his production right now and call it a day. He doesn't have to be great. All he has to be is solid until Dez does come back.

He was just another average wide receiver putting up pedestrian stats in a pass happy league.

I don't think the normal rules of healing apply to athletic specimen like Dezy Bryant, Julio Jones, Adrian Peterson, etc.

Guys, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I heard Dez was getting his resume into the liquor shop guy. Not looking good.

The more games we win and Philly loses the longer he can rest.

First I ever heard Nicks was becoming a top 5 WR.....maybe a top 5 on the Giants roster....

He reminded me a little of Dez before that injury. He did appear to be "on his way" to becoming a top 5 receiver. He scored 11 TD's in 2010.
