Roger Staubach, the four-time Super Bowl quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys and Pro Football Hall of Famer, likes what he sees in Texas A&M's Johnny Manziel. So much so, that he would take Johnny Manziel over Jadaveon Clowney if he had the No. 1 pick in the draft and had to make a decision between the two.

Who is going to argue with Roger?

Alright.

Who is going to argue with Roger?

Roger is often over complementary of other QBs. He once said something to the effect that Romo would end up being better than him (Roger).

I don't get it. Is the DMN insinuating that Jones will move up to the top spot in the draft? Or did Staubach comment more than what the DMN printed in the article?

I do not think this has anything to do with Dallas and Manziel. It was more a statement of how he likes what Manziel brings to the table and would take him at 1 over Clowney.

I'm not so sure that he isn't right in that assessment... (Please! No disrespect intended.) Tony has had his failures and everyone like to knock on him but Tony isn't the reason we haven't gone deep in the playoffs. Yes, he has thrown int's but that is after he has put us in a position to win. It wasn't Tony that gave up on routes (cough! Austin and Craytonx2) it wan't Romo who dropped sure touchdowns (again Crayton - 1 in the endzone). It wasn't Romo who couldn't stop the other team even once. It wasn't Romo who gave up sack after sack (even tho he was the recipient of them). It wan't Romo who couldn't block the dlinemen to allow a rushing game. It wasn't Romo who couldn't run the ball in the endzone from the 1" line. Yes, Romo has thrown untimely interceptions but he has often thrown them while trying to overcome the rest of the teams definciencies. If you give Romo the team that either Staubach or Aikman has and I would be willing to bet my house that Romo wins multiple Superbowls. Call me a Romo apologist if you want but I think we win with him in spite of the team. Without him we suck horribly.

Come on guy stop being a hater

Opinions on this guy are all over the place. Some love his talent and others are convinced he will fail at the next level. Not even considering the off the field "stuff" that bothers a lot of "experts".

I was waiting for them to ask him who he thought Dallas should pick but they never did.

I'm not sure what Roger's track record is in evaluating college players and projecting them to the pros.

That's very different than looking at current pro players and telling us how well (or not) they are doing.

Interesting to see 'Russel-Wilson-type-player' associated with first-pick-in-the-draft status. Honest question: who thinks the Texans would give up their #1 for Russell Wilson at this point. Is that just a no-brainer?

I typically am one to downplay the value of draft picks most of the year, but I have to say, I'd expect a better player than Wilson for my #1 overall. But given the possibility of a flat-out bust, maybe that's too optimistic...

Almost all of the QBs are polarizing this year. A lot of the opinions out there are diametrically opposed. Never seen anything like it.

Roger sees the greatness in Johnny Football. He would provide great entertainment for the Dallas fans. Just do it Jerry. Go get Johnny Football.
