No matter which side anyone takes on this issue, you can hardly put Gregory and Lawrence Phillips in the same sentence. Hyperbole?

Hyperbole?
Not in sports, not in million-dollar TMZ 24 -Hour Mama Drama Stakes.
LP began as a small- time abuser and let fame and money escalate his demonic tendencies. The story of Gregory has not even begun. Put away the babe in the woods scenario until Gregory navigates adulthood and you, get off your prissy high horse until it plays out.
Sorry I had to be rough with you, Tricksey. Say hi to Dixie.

Unfortunately, maybe the NFLPA is going to let Gregory be the sacrificial lamb to get more leverage...

probably but yeah the new CBA will be about whether or not they should test for weed. Owners have to be tired of losing their players to a harmless vice.

I think the majority of players would gladly take the added money and a test that's ridiculously easy to avoid failing, unless you're an addict that is.
Yeah, I agree. I actually asked for it to be deleted bc realized it wasn't really pertaining to that aspect but the difference in the penalties handed out bw Bell and Gregory. That's what I meant by can't blame the non smokers/smokers who quit a month in advance, etc. I'd take the money and clean up too; but also wouldn't mind eating my cake.:D

If you think you proved me wrong that is the best one I heard all week....you know you didn't know Bell was on the IR and you feel stupid and have to lash out to cover for your ignorance

Keep whining about Bell and Floyd and see if that helps Gregory[/QUOTE

You are following the text book. Attack the person personally that presented you with facts. Excellent.

Let's discount the fact that the season was still going on, or the fact that both Gregory's 4 game and 10 game suspensions looked like they happened in the offseason.

This is the problem with people nowadays. Instead of ever having an open, sensible change of mind in the face of glaring facts, they dig a hole for themselves because they have some weird inferiority complex about being proven "wrong" when it's perfectly reasonable given they didn't have all the facts.

It's okay.
That is as close to handing someone their a** on the internet as I've seen. Well stated argument with plenty of facts. Bravo @gmoney112. Bravo.

$14 million is a little low. His reported salary last year was $31.7 million. His salary in 2012 was well over $40 million. His salary this year hasn't been officially published to my knowledge, but I have read that it is around $45 million.
Thanks for providing the neighborhood employed. Since that is a factor to consider when exploring credibility...

My point of direction comes at the time that the US Congress conducted an inquiry into player injury and responsibilities tied to the NFL directly...accountability issues.

Beating a woman=1 game.
Missing drug tests=A year.

NFL needs to reevaluate their priorities.

Gregory is no threat to anybody. Brown was. Floyd is.

Agreed. How can anyone look at these two examples and take the league seriously at all?

Must be that Gregory used a pair of tweezers and lifted a finger when smoking a blunt.

What a stupid drug program. Players who haven't failed the once-a-year off-season tests (given randomly sometime between April 20 and August 9) are not tested during the actual season. So, during the preseason games and regular season games when drugs might affect their performance on the field, they aren't tested at all. That means the whole Cowboys team can be smoking pot right now and not worry at all about being tested, except for Randy and anyone else who has failed an offseason test. The whole testing system is backwards.

Simply put, the system is designed to catch players using drugs during the time of the year when it doesn't affect their play on the field, and intentionally avoids testing them when they are actually playing NFL football games and it could affect their play.

“I just think experience is experience. Some guys have some experience; some guys don't,” coach Jason Garrett said. “My experience in life is you use your experiences to help you with new experiences. For rookies in particular, every experience they have up until this point is the first time they have done it. It was their first rookie minicamp. It was their first OTA. It was their first minicamp. It was their first training camp. On and on and on.

“What you try to do is encourage them to use their experiences up to this point in life. In Zeke's case, playing at Ohio State. In Dak's case, playing at Mississippi State. And use them in your experiences you are about to embark on. I encourage everybody to do that. We all have to do that in life. Some guys are experienced [in] the playoffs. They will use those experiences. Those who aren't will use different experiences.”

I feel that the team still feels that Gregory's experiences haven't caught up with where he needs to be...and are at least supporting his continued progression and possibly a NFL career.

I keep expecting Jerry to get mad one of these days. I've expected it ever since the Cap penalty a few years ago but it has yet to happen to the point that we hear about it.

Jerry might need to get a real life Ray Donovan.

I think he is mad now.

The Dallas Cowboys knew what was coming regarding Randy Gregory.

They knew, but they don't appreciate it one iota.

"We anticipated [the suspension of Randy Gregory]," said Jones, via 105.3FM the Fan on Friday morning. "We knew the circumstances.

"We don't agree with them but we do know the circumstances."

On Thursday, the NFL handed down a one-year ban on the second-year defensive end for what they deemed to be another violation of the league's substance abuse policy stemming from a drug test that was reportedly missed.

Some sources speculate the test was to be administered at a time when Gregory was actually in a rehabilitation facility, having entered after the previous failed screening that landing him a total suspension of 14 games.

"He's genuine in his rehab process," said Jones in his press conference on Friday afternoon. "I do have reason to be encouraged about his future.

"I hope and expect Randy Gregory to be back on the field."

Jones would not go into specifics only to note the case is still "active" and has a myriad of "possible outcomes". The comments bring to mind the Supreme Court battle between the NFL and New England Patriots QB Tom Brady over the league's verdict stemming from deflated footballs in the 2014-15 AFC Playoff game.

"His options are still to be possibly exercised," Jones noted.

"This is a highly sensitive time for comments."
