I met a girl while attending a Technical School. After 3 months, I knew she was for me. I got a job 3 weeks later and asked her to marry me. She said yes ( which scared me) We were married 3 weeks later. Not a shotgun wedding lol

That was 40+ years ago. We had 3 kids and now 4 grandkids and one in the basket.

I can't imagine life without her. She is the most important person in our family and I treat her that way. She's a great cook, great housekeeper, very good looking and God fearing person.

I'm a blessed man. Oh and she is a Cowboy fan too!

Did you convert her or did she arrive that way? Mine was a Pats fan, took some work to come to the better side

Ok, we've been married for 10 yrs+. Half the time I'm looking cross eyed walking backwards to keep from saying something that will be wrong. But, I can honestly say my life has been fuller and more rewarding since we got hitched. It's about 50/50 on the happily part, but I've flourished as a person since.

Good honest post,strollin'

I was happily married for 26 years and then it went downhill. Two weeks ago my wife and I divorced after 32 years-10 months and 3 days of marriage. That's 11,994 days. A long time. That doesn't include the 7 months or so we lived together before we married. We split in May 2016 and after two months of no contact we became "friends" again and would talk hours on the phone. She would do little thoughtful things for me that she used to do while we were together. Most people thought we would get back together (including me) but the damage was done.

I will say this, there is a reason 2/3 of divorce filings are carried out by women.

To preface this discussion - I am actually single haha.

Also, take the common and expected arguments/disagreements out, and then answer the following! Or even if you're not married - feel free to chime in.

-------------

I'm curious, out of all the guys on here (or ladies!) that are married, how many of you are honestly happy in your marriage?

Not to get super deep or anything, but to me, it's sad to see how seldom marriages are actually enjoyed by both spouses. I talk to too many guy friends who just tolerate their wife and/or have completely lost "the spark". Sleep in different beds, never intimate, etc.

In no way do I want to turn this into a therapy session. But sparing the details, it'd be interesting to find out how many great - or not so great- couples there are out there!

Come on CZ, give me hope that it's possible for me to have a great marriage one day
I was incredibly happy. Marriage is gorgoues, J. Just ask @LeonDixson

lol. I am working on my 3rd divorce as we speak. Unless you can find an only child-lady lawyer/doctor with a rich family, and owns a liquor store...stay single. Remember the words of the great late Henry Bukowski..." Regard the society of woman as a necessary evil to be avoided whenever possible?:)
Boxer. My dearest Boxer. Love ya buddy. I'm always here for you.

Carlos, your wife is a one-in-a-million catch.

Folks, listen to this man. JWoot, listen to this man. He's cultivated a gorgeous, gorgeous marriage.

I've spoken to his missus, she's an angel. If you don't mind me saying, RGV :)

I think if you are in a situation where the situations like this exist (can't do some things now and again without being hit with a guilt trip or a reprimand) then I gotta say you picked the wrong person. Yeah, I know that sounds like a jerk-thing to post but I definitely believe it.
Probably so..it just got to where doing any of those things wasn't worth it because the rest of the weekend was just miserable..i.e guilt trip

Sorry to hear that...you'd think after that long you would know each other's quirks, etc. My ex and I separated for like six months, got back together awhile, separated again and divorced then got back together again for like 5 years, we literally never talked about it..probably part of the problem. Like Jerry Seinfeld said, breaking up is like knocking over a coke machine, you gotta rock it back and forth a couple times.lol
My ex is actually after child support during those 5 years we were together. Talk about hell hath no fury like a scorned woman, never mind the almost six figures she got on the sale of our house. Which like you say they usually file divorce because they have all the power with courts

This has turned into the He Man woman haters club thread

Not quite at the whole
" dread coming home/ cringe when she walks thru the door" level but still ranks in the 'negative' slot of the "tortured slow miserable death/will to live"
Category,,,got it!:lmao:
