Roy would be illegal today. Back then, he was taking manhood's.

Young Roy was on another level. Great 3-5 year run.

Also, Scott Case had one of the best hitting games I've seen in superbowl XXX against the steelers. He was making Pittsburgh receivers earn it.

I looooved Darren Woodson’s physical play - standing over the crushed bodies of his victims. But Roy Williams? He was a missile in cleats. Just a devastating hitter.

Here Comes The BOOOM! (See YouTube video).

We’ve had some really hard hitting players. But safeties generally get the hardest hits because they have a running start and the are colliding with a player running in their direction. Roy was a heat seeking middle back there

in your opinion who was the hardest hitters in Cowboys History?
Woody?Roy? Bates?
Why would any of our opinions matter about this? None of us has ever been hit by any of these gentlemen so what do we know about who hits the hardest? All were said to be hard hitters but we still don't personally qualify to have an objective opinion.

Nobody wanted to get hit by Cliff Harris.

Randy White's nickname was the Manster for a reason.

Harvey "Too Mean" Martin? You can say that when it comes to rule changes to protect the quarterback, he was the inspiration.

Mean Gene "the Hitting Machine", the nickname given to Eugene Lockhart, was earned by his punishing hits. He became the first rookie in Cowboys history to start at MLB as a rookie. in 6 out of 7 seasons he had over a hundred tackles. In 1989 he set a new club record and led the NFL in tackles with 222 including 154 solo tackles.

Roy Williams was also the inspiration for rule changes. He brought the wood.
