Has any great QB had a crueler run than Tony Romo?

Um, split starting reps. Best guy wins. What, you don't think they can tell who is playing at a higher level during practice sessions? Then why did everyone know Romo was the best QB on the team when Bledsoe was taking all first-team reps?

Why the F are we coddling Prescott, thinking he couldn't handle a little competition? It is utterly ridiculous that you have a HOF-level QB on your team...and you won't even let him compete.
and what makes you think they don't see how romo is doing in practice?

when you're 8-1 you don't start "splitting reps" to "be fair".

and why the F do you think we're coddling anyone? it just makes zero sense to have some open competition for qb when we're doing as well as we are doing.

Some are just thinking with their heart.

And others aren't thinking at all. Face it, most of those who are saying you can't mess with a good thing are just parroting what they've heard media types saying, like the little sheep they are. When did that become a rule? You don't think Brady would get his job back, no matter how a rookie was playing? Sorry, the team and John Q. Public have somehow decided that a) Prescott is actually playing better than Romo would...without even seeing Romo play (which is just moronic, given that he should have been the league MVP in 2014, with a lesser running game or b) allowing them to compete in practice will somehow cause dissension on this team.

it would mean we don't know what we're doing.

you're far too emotionally wrapped up in this one and part of me can't blame you. the other part is telling me to say "get over it".

you pick which answer you'd like and we'll all move on. you can drag your butthurt around if you must but i don't see romo coming in just to make you smile.

Quit being obtuse and looking at this win-loss record as being the only factor. Why the F is that the sole factor, that the team is winning games? You don't think the team could win games with a guy with the talent level of Romo? Hell, half of you admit that we would probably have the same record (or better) under Romo...and then just leave it at that, not realizing that you have completely undermined the entire premise of your argument. Why can't an 8-1 team be even better than they currently are?

It's hard to argue with people that use the term "butthurt," I'll give you that. You haven't addressed any of the points I've made...because you can't. If anyone is "emotionally wrapped up," its Dak followers, who don't even want their guy to compete for the job. *****' pathetic.

you mean, outside of win 8 games in a row.

did i miss it when romo did that?

Dak won those games by himself heh? Here we go again!

I guess the 6 in a row followed by the 7 in a row in 2007 (Romo's first full year as well) don't count?

Talk to me when Dak is 13-1

If Brady had missed the last 2 seasons due to injury his job would be in jeopardy. No way Belichick would just hand him his job back if the backup had proven himself. Brady doesn't have a history of injuries so that's why the situation is mute. Look what happened to Peyton in Indy.

Using terms like "butthurt" and "Felicia" just shows how much of an immature moron you really are. Yeah, those are solid arguments there. Good job. Again, why are you avoiding the fact that this team could easily be 8-1 under Romo? Or are you suggesting they couldn't be? And if that's the case, was evidence are you drawing this conclusion from? You have no game, none.

I love both Romo and Dak. Wish there was a way they could take the field together. Love what Romo has been, and love what I think Dak will be.

I'd have no problem with a QB competition for the 2017 season. However, I think it's a silly proposition midseason when the team is 8-1. I am fine with the way we are handling it, and would have handled it the exact same way myself. The job remains Dak's until or unless there is reason to go back to Romo.

Jim Kelly.

Hard to say leading the only team to ever reach the SB 4 straight times and being elected to the HOF as a cruel run for a great QB. Granted Kelly came up 0-4 in those SB's but he did have a great career.

When you talk about a cruel run for a great QB or at least one who could have been "great" had he had a good team was Archie Manning. No talented QB had a crueler run than he did. He played 14 years and never played on a team that had a winning record or made the playoffs. It doesn't get any crueler than that.

And back then if you weren't on a good team you never had national exposure. I don't think I saw very many Saints games broadcast in the 70's.
