First of all, nothing will happen with the HC right away. Unless Jerry has a candidate in place who is African American, he has to interview one Black candidate to satisfy the Rooney Rule. With that said, I would expect the following to happen.

Garret gone to the Rams...

Wade is demoted to DC....

Romeo Crennell is interviewed...

Shanahan is hired as HC....

All of this happens by the end of next week.

Shanahan's recent record is, for the most part, average. He's a good coach, but I'm not certain he's the cure-all that some tout him to be. It seems the Cowboys lack the type of offensive linemen necessary to run Shanahan's scheme.

Shanny said he wanted to take 2009 off. He's in Cabo on vacation.

I don't think he's taking 2009 off though. I think at the very least he will be our OC, and yeah, I think he'd do that.

This is all just so strange.

Continuity is out the window, and I was actually on board with that idea, for the most part.

I think Jerry has to decide what direction he wants to go. Very simply put, he has to decide if Wade is really his guy. And I mean, Wade has to be THE guy. If all he's doing is keeping a seat warm for someone else, Jerry needs to make a move. He should have done that a long time ago, if that were the case.

If Wade is the guy (and it's conceivable he is to Jerry), then Mr. Jones needs to do everything he can to ensure Wade's success. You purge the locker room of every guy who doesn't respect Wade. You let Wade pick his coaches and decide what he wants this team to be, and you judge him on that basis.

But this decision is huge - every bit as huge as hiring Wade in the first place.

Who's your guy, Jerry? And what will you do to help your guy succeed?

I remember saying the exact same thing about Roy Williams WR before the season. Took a little longer than anticipated, but it happened.

One of my friends who works as a content writer for Fox Sports is telling me that he's hearing that Phillips is being demoted to DC (willingly so apparently). According to him, Wade can't take the stress and simply wants to focus on one side of the ball.

The more interesting part is that he stated that there was no plans to change anything with the team this year but that something occurred about ten days ago that divided the front office. This coincides with Garrett finally interviewing with the Lions, but could be chance as well.

He had no idea on the new HC, just mentioned the usual guys.

Dude, that would be freaking sweet if Wade would accept the DC role, I would even offer him a raise to do it.

How legit is your source, no offense or anything.........Is it somebody that would actually know something for real or somebody that is kinda guessing like most of us on here???
