Heard This About Stewart's Dismissal

Shanny said he wanted to take 2009 off. He's in Cabo on vacation.

I don't think he's taking 2009 off though. I think at the very least he will be our OC, and yeah, I think he'd do that.

he's our best option at this point. failing that, gruden.

after that, it really doesn't matter.

That's literally the stupidest tattoo I've ever seen.

That being said, I still got that old fashioned romantic feeling where I'd do anything to bone her.

She has SEVERAL of the absolute dumbest quotes I've ever read tattooed on her body.

She's good looking, but I can name plenty better.

Oh, and to be on topic... Gruden or Shanny... either are fine with me

ROTFLMAO... gasp... wheeze...

ROTFLMAO...

Sometimes this forum is better than two tickets to a George Carlin concert...

I mean, now that he's dead...

He was let go January 7th, today is the 16th. That's 10 days if you count the 7th. Off by one day? I don't care. Sounds right.

Divide the staff? Because there was nothing new going to come out? I assume some would think no reason to. Maybe others didn't.

Consider that the split being referred to would almost certainly have happened a day or two before the release, and the time frame does fit...

First of all, nothing will happen with the HC right away. Unless Jerry has a candidate in place who is African American, he has to interview one Black candidate to satisfy the Rooney Rule. With that said, I would expect the following to happen.

Garret gone to the Rams...

Wade is demoted to DC....

Romeo Crennell is interviewed...

Shanahan is hired as HC....

All of this happens by the end of next week.

This rule doesn't make one bit of sense to me???? Why didn't the Colts have to interview any other coaches????

B/C they promoted from within... same with the Seahawks and Mora Jr. If it's in an assistants contract that they get HC, then you don't have to interview (b/c you already have a new HC)

The Rooney Rule applies to outside hires. The Colts promoted from within.

For example, we could name Dave Campo head coach tommorow and we would not be in violation of the rule since it would be an internal hire.

The rule is to make teams interview minorities if they are interviewing individuals outside the organization.

No, you are completely wrong.

The Rooney rule allows a team to make an explicit contract with an assistant to take over when the HC retires. Jim Mora and Jim Caldwell both had such clauses in their deals.

That does not mean internal hires do not apply. For example, the Rams could not have hired Hasslet without interviewing a minority applicant since Hasslet did not have an explicit clause in his contract that gave him the position.

We could NOT name Campo tomorrow without violating the Rooney Rule.

This is all just so strange.

Continuity is out the window, and I was actually on board with that idea, for the most part.
it is so strange anyone bought into the CONTINUITY spin.

no offense but do you guys get PROMOTIONS & PRAISE for UTTER FAILURE in the real world you live in?

"It's not that surprising around here. He was not getting the job done and Wade had to be pulled over to that side of the ball. There's something in the air, but I can't discuss it yet."

Wish I had more. My apologies.

I can tell you what it is.

Bill JOnes said on cbs 11 tonight that sources have told him that the plans are in the works and have been for some time for DAVE CAMPO to take over as Defensive coordinator.

and no, I am not joking. 5-11 here we come.

and jones also added that with garrett leaving everythign is up for grabs and everyone could be out.

that is a good smokescreen but very, VERY unlikely.

if we get Mike S. - and that is almost a given once jason press confernce is complete - you can BET THE HOUSE he'll be making EVERY coaching hire.

local writers need to get a clue

Oh god, not more Campo. 3 straight 5-11 as head coach, and his secondary was horrible this season. Easily the weakest unit on the defense. He teaches poor techniques. Campo just needs to go coach high school football some where in Texas.

Bill Jones is not a writer. He works for cbs 11 and the dallas cowboys. He is at valley ranch everyday.

I have never heard the rule described like this before, but I will take your word for it my friend.

I stand corrected.

Oh boy, Wade at HC, Campo at DC and Sherman as OC.

Just as long as we keep continuity.
