Yes and no.

The relief is no longer having to watch everything. I can now put people on ignore!!!! As a mod, you don't have the luxury.

As far as the no part, I didn't mind being a mod. For the most part!!!! It's seriously a job I can take or leave.

I think it's more fun not being a mod, definitely.

"Ignore" is as a member you can't place any of the moderators on that list,I've tried, it doesn't work.

Nope, not fishing for a mod position!!!!! Been that for years, it'll be a pleasure just posting and having fun!!!

I almost didn't take it the first time. Basically, your posting life changes when you're a mod. How people view you, how people talk to you. Some will absolutely hate you just because of it. Some will resent authority, some will make plans behind the scenes to gang up on you. Some are afraid of you, and many many try to push you just to see how far they can.

All in all, it is a duty, one that I respect highly. I am truly here to have fun, to respect the guidelines. To meet up w/ old friends and make new ones.

Absolutely no brown nosing here, I truly appreciate this site and what it is. It's a place to weather the storm, to meet w/ friends, old and new. To share a common bond, to celebrate the victories and commiserate on the bad stuff.

Everyone I've met here so far has been friendly and helpful. I look forward to a long, fruitful relationship.

I can say it now because it doesn't look like brown nosing but you were a great mod and more lenient than I would have been had some said to me what they said to you. I thought our mods were great and I don't like authority, I won't even follow my own orders.

Hell, osf64 had to give me a warning point and I think he knew it was a set up by the poster masquerading as a female but I knew he was doing what he was supposed to do. What he didn't know was that her fake brother sent me a PM threatening to kick my *** for "insulting" his sister by asking if she was really a woman.

I pretty much pushed the envelope over there and the mods were more than lenient with me. I was very appreciative that y'all let me do my "thang". That may not fly as well here but they don't understand. The thoughts come, they have to come out or they stay in there and marinate. I think it was ES that said it one time and it was perfect. He said I was the drunk uncle of The Forum.

I didn't take time to thank you for allowing that over there so I am doing it here. You did a great job over there and while I kidded you about crossing over to the dark side, you were always part of our posse.

I let that pass and actually posted with "her" after that. I didn't like the way I was set up and "them" knowing the kind of sense of humor I have and using that. I actually felt worse for osf because I know he didn't want to do that. And in fairness, I am surprised I only got one over there. I was deserving of more. I didn't attack posters but I did stretch the boundaries and for the entire time I was there. But it wasn't malicious at all, just the way I am wired.

Funny thing is that when I came back after taking time off for one of my personal challenges, the first and most excited to welcome me back was Quickdraw and even helped me get my moniker back. That's like a guard welcoming back a prisoner.

I knew almost all of the mods before they crossed over and I never saw any change or abuse of power with any of them. The ones here look cool too.

The real beauty of this is you do not have to do anything. In fact, the less you do the more people will like you, but never tell you. But you have the pride of being a member. We all made the decision pretty decisively and together, even though they whole thing was brought down before a lot of us, including myself, could even say goodbye. This site was always held in high regard at the DC Forum. I honestly feel like we might have a better time here, especially filtering out the noise of the Eagles/Giants trolls.
