Monks!! Truly glad to see you here!!!

It's good to see you too! I am sure we'll see some of the others when they figure out what happened...especially ones who had made new accounts here when that Admin went near-postal in 2016.

I used to could jump just like a deer, but now I need a new landing gear!!!!
LoL, I'd shotgunned one ,one time & found her hung by her hind leg stuck in the fence she'd tried to jump over, 100 yards up the trail, dead,,,I used to eat a lot of venison.
Had a little double barreled coach gun loaded up with 3" #2's gave her both barrels as she ran past,,,come to think about.

Jumbo, what's up!!!!

You the Jumbo from the old site?

Yeah. Been taking a break for about a year. Looked in on the old site, and saw it was gone. No big loss. It was being dominated by a few commenters, and it got old wading through all their posts to get to something worth reading. I still do my ratings, but don't post them anywhere. Cowboys finished 14th in the NFL this season according to my ratings. And they are picking 14th from last, so that matches up.

The NFL is actively trying to lose fans.
Oh, and I think the NFL is struggling mightily to handle the new media mess. More and more fans are watching highlights, or that 6-8 screen thing where they show only highlights. I can't stand it, but I hear more and more referring to it.

That and the Kaepernick mess. I stopped watching this year after the Cowboys decided to all kneel together. The only game I watched after that was because I spent Thanksgiving at my brother's house. I have close friends, one of which is a Commanders fan, and one who is a Packers fan. Usually, we give each other grief. This year...nothing. No one cared anymore.

You've got to be relieved to no longer be a moderator.
Yes and no.

The relief is no longer having to watch everything. I can now put people on ignore!!!! As a mod, you don't have the luxury.

As far as the no part, I didn't mind being a mod. For the most part!!!! It's seriously a job I can take or leave.

I think it's more fun not being a mod, definitely.

It's going to be interesting to observe how the NFL emerges from that mess. Sad part is that it had nothing to do w/ the NFL.

I just wish we'd had a last moment. And yeah, it's been a significant part of my day for as long as it's been up, even if I wasn't a multiple thousands post guy.
Yep and it didn't matter how many posts you had, the number of posts was more indicative of free time than loyalty, you had quality posts. In the last rendition of that site, I had almost 30K posts and I'd bet no more than 20% were actually about anything significant, just wasting time and screwing around and having fun most of the time.

I agree, Drew, it seems like a real slap in the face as I'd envisioned a couple of memories threads for posters to share and even some to make amends that have been across the fence for so long but they didn't care about us. Truth be told, we were a nuisance, a necessary evil that they accidentally created.

I've never had much respect for Booger but I have 0 now. I regret not sharing all the dirt I know about that old coot from Little Rock because my father-in-law was one of his primary bankers but I promised myself I would not bring up the past. Don't want mine brought up and he deserves the same right. But this total disregard for people that gave him thousands of hits and validation for his site is inexcusable. But not surprising.

All they had to do was post a shut down day/time and just give a little notice. I can only imagine the ones that didn't even get the chance to post because they'd cleared out after the season ended.
