It should not have been in the interest of getting him to shut up. He talked after the game. Remember??? It should have been inthe interest of making plays and mixing it up to throw the Eagles off. Did we run one quick slant at all? I don't recall seeing one.
On our opening drive, we moved from our 20 to their 40, had a 3rd and 3, threw a quick slant to Crayton, and they were all over it.

Just like they were all over TO and Witten early, (Witten's first catch wasn't until a couple of minutes after TO's), just like they were ready for Barber at the goal line.

Why do you suppose Witten didn't complain after the game?

u got an article?? wat was said by the both of them?

Terry's comments were strictly frustration about the entire offense having weapons but losing. No personal selfishness. Which is why he's drawing a pass on his comments from local media, national media, and the lion's share of the fanbase. In fact, he's being roundly championed for speaking out.

Owens comments were the usual selfish me-isms.

Check the article zone..the mods proabably moved the original article there.

When he says that they threw the ball to me in the second half of the game but it was too late because I need to be involved early in the game how else can you take that comment? Please spin away I love the fairy tales by the TO fan club.

I take that as a player on offense having done what the defense did in the first few minutes odf the game! Given up.

27 minutes to get it into the hands of your playmaker. There are so many things wrong with that on so many levels.

Here's something for you. Try saying one thing positive about TO. It would most likely be very therapeutic for you. I've already acknowledged numerous negatives about him but I see both sides. Just give it a try. Say one positive thing about him. I promise you won't vanish into thin air.

I just wish Parcells would show all of the balls dropped by Owens & Glenn, then tell them both, "Until you stop this , shut up about anyone else on the team".

This team is getting dangerously close to imploding due to all of the selfish "I, Me" talk, instead of "Us, We". Even TNew said, "This team has too many talkers, and not enough players". How true. Why is it that during his latest interview, Owens wasn't heard to say once, "I dropped two more passes, and I lead the league in that category. Until I do my share and stop dropping passes, and running myself out of bounds??!!, I have no right to say anything about anyone else", if he wants to talk about himself. If he wants to talk about his team, how about, "We need to pull together as a team, and all of us are determined to do so". The same goes for Terry Glenn.

No, instead, they hint that there are problems with the offense, and "it 'aint with us"! Just remember boys, every time you point your finger at someone else, there is a thumb & three fingers pointing back at you!

And people wonder why coaches are so concerned about players with character ....:bang2:

Yes. Accountability is key and I am high on it... but drops are part of the game... Terry is now getting frustrated ala TO... drops are part of the game but these guys need to be our 2 headed monster and all they are now is a part of a supposed balanced offense that is not really paying off dividends.. they must be fed the ball and looked for often...

Seriously... do you think TO or Glenn WANT to drop the ball?

If you watch game film you will rarely see TO lined up in the slot or him catching a quick slant over the middle where he is most dangerous.

Imo it's because the coaches don't trust him to man up anymore.

That's true. If we do throw the route, it's almost always to Crayton. I don't see Owens in the slot much at all, which is odd.

Bleu Star...

Get your facts straight...

TO admitted that it's "too late" in the game to get him involved...

Talking about hyporisy...

You point fingers at people and judge them based on their comments yet you fail to look at your own blind love for a player who ADMITS that he's not involved late in the game if the baby doesn't get his bottle...

I posted the stats that prove him AND you wrong...

He gets more passes in the first half than the second...

Nice to know that our $10mm receiver thinks it's too late to get him involved...

BUT, he views himself as a professional...

Oh, the irony...

Tell that to the Titans when they were down by 21 with 10 minutes remaining in the 4th against the Giants...

Get real...

You simply hate TO. That's understood. Moving along...

Play Makers make plays not excuses, your boy is making excuses plain and simple sad part is your blind love for him will make excuses for him as well. Blame everyone else seem to be the motto for the TO fan club. Well that is a bit harsh considering you now are telling me TO gave up, that say a lot about him.

How do we know Witten hasn't complained to someone? TG hadn't complained at all until Monday's game came and went.

Then why are you defending him?...

Stats speak otherwise so I have no idea why you keep going down this path of how horribly mistreated poor TO is...

Let me get this straight...

He's having a career season and is more involved than any other player on offense AND has more passes thrown to him in the FIRST HALF than the second yet you scream of an INJUSTICE?...

How can you and the other TO lovers use the stat about his TD receptions to prove how GOOD he is yet then cry that he's being UNDERUSED?

How does that work, exactly?...

Please, send me some of that stuff you're smoking...

Dallas 1st drive had 2 passes to Glenn and 1 to Crayton, we fell behind by 2 score because of a fumbled kickoff return so we did not get our second possession of the game until we were 2 score down.

Totally agree with this. They went what, 89 and 95 yards on us? They had the ball for most of the first half. We are lucky Reid went with 2 field goals and not for the 4th and 1. We would have been smoked by halftime! On the Glenn comments I will respect his opinions since he isn't in the habbit of just spouting off. He has been a class guy since he came here, and I will take his criticisms more to heart than TO for that reason.

I call garbage on this viewpoint. Whenever you see TO across the middle it is on a 30 yard post in which the double team has hit and he is inevitably bwattling two guys for the ball. Every time!

Hit him with some of those quick slants tossed to Crayton and see what he can do with it when given room to operate without the double team.

The fact that the adjustments haven't been made to get TO in a position to run that route are a total indictment of the offensive braintrusts inability to adjust on the fly. (regardless of what parcells said when signing TO!) You see crayton catch them because the offensive braintrust doesn't know how to make the necessary adjustments to improve upon what works and make it work better.

Yes! Absolutely. Until we are any better than we have been the last 4 years I will continue to scream injustice. The road this team is traveling down seems all to familiar. The difference ie last year we traveled down it without TO. Who did you hate then?

The point is, we don't know, because if he did it, he didn't do it in public.

This would have been a great point to make about Terry Glenn last week.

I'm sure you're getting my point.

That Glenn isn't as good as Witten at keeping his frustration out of the media?

I don't think Owens or Glenn either one were complaining from a selfish perspective.

I don't fault either one for saying something, except perhaps they could have done it inside the lockerroom. Or maybe they already tried that and nobody is listening.

(Barber is probably wondering why he doesn't get to carry the ball more, since he IS the best running back on the team.)

Glenn & Owens both say they want the ball more, but they are saying that to help the team move the chains, score TD's and win games, .. not selfishly.

Each thinks he can help more than they are being allowed to right now.

Every great player wants the ball to help the team win.

I am sure if Emmitt didn't touch the ball in the first half of a game he would have wanted it more too, ... only thing is we weren't stupid enough back then to NOT give Emmitt the ball the way we are doing now with Glenn & Owens.

I don't care what the coverage is, an imaginitve OC gets his playmakers the ball.

I never coached at this level, but I learned early on, no matter what sport I was coaching, .. get your STARS the BALL !!

Very good post.... just a good x's and o's football post about our team... no some major HATE post like we are seeing here this year.... The only thing I disagree with you is that... I dont mind if they come out and say things... something has to be done... with each day that we dont use our weapons effectively is one day closer to the end for us... TO is all about winning.... so is Glenn... does anyone really think that they want the ball for the sake of wanting the ball??? They want to get 1st downs and TD's and help this team not only win but to be the force we are on paper.
