Um, have you been living under a rock?

Both Thornhill and Rapp have got their fair share of kudos for their play this year.

Meanwhile, we have fat dumpy dork Hill talking about his one goal in life right now is to not fall asleep during inspirational speeches and Marinelli saying his one job is to make him get his crap in gear.

It is sad. A dumb and lazy high maintenance kid paired with an enabling old man who thinks he can somehow get him in gear.

I think that would be a heck of a sitcom plot.

I bet neither Thornhill nor Rapp signed a contract with their DC

Beat that

Who were the two highly ranked safeties we passed on in the 2nd round that dropped to us? Anyone know how these guys are doing with their respective teams this year?
Thornhill. 1 pass defended and 1 Int. Both in a loss. Has some tackles but only because everyone in front of him sucks.

Some highly selective stats there.

How about Trysten Hill 85 snaps played, Juan Thornhill 543 snaps played.

Or how about just the idea that Hill can't get on the active list of a team struggling to find quality reps at defensive tackle?

Not only did we pass a couple good safeties, we probably passed on some good DTs as well. Trysten Hill was a Marinelli special according to "Talkin Cowboys". Marinelli is the guy who pushed for Hill. Thanks a bunch Rod.

Yup, and I think the team seems as though they regret taking him.

Thornhill was always my crush. I don't see how you can compare him alongside Hill as a pure prospect and come away with that and decide to take Hill.

But even Rapp would have been better. That is kind of the point.
I think it was the point in draft day. Hill is exactly the oversized marshmallow that his film showed him being. No aggression if it involves any heavy contact to get through olinemen and he falls a lot . Both safety prospects had been reviewed 100 times in this board and many thought they would be fine in the first round. Since the Cowboys drafted Hill, who I never saw mentioned by anybody. Posters praised that move and went to bashing the two safety prospects that was still the better draftees.

Taylor Rapp has played 58% of defensive snaps for the Rams, He has 43 tackles and 3 passes defended. He has Jeff Heath-like completion rate of 68.8% rate against him ( 22 completions on 32 targets)

Juan Thornhill has played 93% of defensive snaps for the Chiefs. He has 30 tackles, 2 passes defended, and 1 INT. Has a 37.5% completions rate against him (3 completions on 8 targets). His coverage must be amazing since he has played 93% of available snaps and only been targeted 8 fricken times.

Trysten Hill has played in 19% of available defensive snaps for the Cowboys and has 1 tackle.

The issue for me was that Trysten Hill is exactly the player he showed he was in college. Good first step, poor everything else. College teams do not bench NFL caliber 3Techs. They play him and tolerate the issue. Posters here can generate all the excuses in the world and nothing changes the fact that a college team trying to make the playoffs, as undefeated UCF was trying to do in 2018, does not bench an undeniable talent.

Another issue was Juan Thornhill was so clearly the pick. He's a high-SPARQ guy, he has "position flex" (started at CB and S for UVA), and we have been subpar at safety for years. No-brainer pick and his performance so far has proven that.

Thornhill has been a freaking stud for the Chiefs...……………has played 93% of defensive snaps and only targeted 8 times:omg:

Teams are scared of him...………..but no, we decided to use our 2nd rounder to draft a lazy, out of shape 3T that cant stay awake for team meetings because he was up all night playing World of Warcraft.

And posters tell me 2nd round picks are too valuable to pitch in the trade for Jamal Adams:facepalm:
