Its one thing to be a lazy high maintenance kid in high school/college when your not being paid for it, but when you have potential to make millions off football, its pretty sad.
It's pretty sad we selected him despite the fact he wasn't a 3 down DT in college.

But see, the thing was, he supposedly wasn't lazy or high maintenance.

Marinelli like did all his research and stuff.

He talked to the coaches at UCF. And even went to Frost who was a year removed.

At the end of the day, that seems intensive, but all it was about was visiting with his former coaches. They probably liked him as a kid, he does not seem surly or disrespectful, so they said kind things and the old man ran with his special twitch kid.

My personal opinion is that he is soft. Like pillow soft. Like mama cut the crusts off his bread, overfed him out of guilt, you name it. And now he is being asked to grow up.

He could have all the quick twitch in the world, but unless you have some aggression and grit, you will absolutely fail in this league.

You can get by in college with that, especially coming off the bench, as he did his senior year.

I just don't get how you can dismiss him not starting his senior year as a huge red flag that would keep you from taking him high.

I have always thought talking to former coaches should be taken with a grain of salt, they're not always objective when it comes to a player they are no longer coaching. They don't necessarily want to be seen as throwing a young kid under the bus.

Cracks me up that folks expect the 58th pick in the draft to come in and start making plays immediately. 6 picks away from being a 3rd rounder.

He wasn't expected to do that when he was drafted. And now he's taking all kind of heat because he isn't.

Makes no sense.

Its more than playing time. Now the kid is being late to practice and falling asleep in meetings. Was sent him and deactivated for todays game.

Surely you can see the folly in these new developments?

Clearly not a case of just a rookie not playing much. And its a position where we are in desperate need of someone to step up. Its abundantly clear that he is the worst DT on the team. Which is bad seeing as though its probably the weakest position on our team.

That is what it looks like at present. Not sure he won't be cut in the off.

No one is expecting him to make an impact at this point anymore. A 2nd round pick can’t even make it to the active roster is pretty telling. Sitting on the bench and at least active on game day, ok that’s understandable but to be passed over and not suit up? Sheesh.

We took him 3 rounds above where he should’ve been. THAT’S what makes no sense big dog. No disrespect intended.

What we supposed to do with a safety when the QB got time to poop wipe flush and wash his hands in the pocket?

How about just come in and be productive and part of a rotation?

He can’t even do that. There are 2nd rounders that come in and at least help with depth and give competent play. To act like it’s completely irrational to expect a second round pick to at least be adequate is hilarious.

Hill can’t even do that. He’s only active because we lost Crawford to injury.

Nah...we drafted Taco to replace DLaw because he had not shown enough. DLaw is the definition of late bloomer

100% completely wrong.

Dlaw had 8 sacks in 10 games in his 2nd season. First season was a washout because of either injury or suspension.

Taco was drafted because Gregory was having issues.

Lawrence played in 5 games his rookie year because of injury and had 2 sacks.

Lawrence was NOT a late bloomer.
DLaw had 2 sacks as a rookie.....he was a late bloomer and considered by many to be a bust due to his injury issues and suspension

He only played in 5 games his rookie year buddy because he was injured. He had 2 sacks and a FF in only those 5 games. Then he was suspended the first 4 games of his 2nd year and had 8 sacks the rest of the season. He was 100% NOT a late bloomer.

Dlaw was a late bloomer due to not performing at the standard he was expected due to injury and suspension. Being injury prone and suspensions have caused many players in the NFL not to get off to a great start.....DLaw had both as a rookie.

Dlaw was not a late bloomer by any definition.

But lets move on. Its clear your not interested in having a discussion, simply pushing home a point that isn't accurate.

As fans we always expect our early round picks to contribute almost immediately. If the coaches didn't expect this guy to contribute in 2019, when we are trying to win a Superbowl in 2019, then that just goes to show you how inept our front office is. So you can take up for the player if you want too. But don't you dare take up for the front office. Because is been too many years now that they've mishandled player acquisitions, the depth chart, player rotations, the salary cap, the X's and O's and the coaching staff.

So in the end we're not mad at Hill we're mad at the front office. And just taking it out on Hill. He sucks because they suck. Hill is the epitome of this staff.
