Holy cow! A whole new Garrett today!

Doesn't matter, it's science - no one is going to take a ginger seriously.

Go ahead, name me one Super Bowl winning head coach that was a ginger. How about a Nobel Prize winning ginger? Ginger Presidents? I rest my case.

He was getting after the guys today. Said they had a come to Jesus meeting with some of the guys this morning about the standards being met on the field.

Nice to hear that it's not all sunshine and daffodils after one preseason victory.

I think he's showing that if he gets fired he's going to go out doing it his way rather than be the nice polite guy trying to win friends.

JG has been doing it his way from day 1 of becoming HC and he's doing a helluva job, it just doesn't happen overnite. He's going to field a darn good team this season.

Clearly he's a different coach this year, doing what he should have been doing since year 2, being a HC. I like it.

This team will be united as one this year, it will show.

Presidents - Washington, Jefferson, Jackson, Van Buren, Eisenhower, Coolidge, and Grant

Nobel Prize winners - Marie Curie, Kari Byron

Others - Margaret Sanger (led the movement for birth control), L Ron Hubbard (Church of Scientology), Napoleon, Custer, Cleopatra, Oliver Cromwell, Vivaldi, Willie Nelson, Lucille Ball, Ron Howard, Carol Burnette, Van Gogh, Mark Twain, Gallileo, Churchill, Lenin

Yeah, nobody ever listened to them or took them seriously. Just sayin'. (And no, I'm not a Ginger)

Don't you think that Apollo was being sarcastic?

Perhaps, but with some it's tough to tell. If he was, I apologize for jumping on his post. But there are people who actually think that.

I hear you...

I'm not even sure if he was being sarcastic.

Also dont believe in the Gingers have no souls myth either.

Sticky a warning to not post Garrett’s press conference because it’s too negative?

It is an old phrase that means a meeting of minds. Everyone realizing the truth. For example you and boss have a meeting about giving a raise to bring you up market value. Him agreeing to pay you more is a coming to jesus meeting.

Wait...so if that's the meaning of the phrase, how is that a new Garrett? Wouldn't the old Garrett be more apt to meet Jesus? If he's truly turning over a new leaf then he wouldn't be agreeing to pay raises, he'd be cutting pay in half until play improves.

Effort or Coaching? or both?

Just effort.

Like I said, if you want to criticize his coaching in terms of strategy, spotting talent, using players in the right position, etc...have at it. But I haven't seen a lack of effort under Garrett when he's been head coach. I can point to specific examples (Spencer, Jenkins, etc) where the effort hasn't been a problem. If people can provide examples where it has been a problem, I could possibly change my tune.

They say all along he showed fire behind the scenes with the team. He just doesn't want to give the press much.

Now he has a team of his guys. He can do this now. Wouldn't have played effectively with Andre Gurode or Bradie James in the beginning.

Who says he wasn't ready to do that day one?

I have zero problem with the effort put forth by the team since Garrett has been the head coach. Particularly since he took over a roster that liked to relax with Wade in charge.

I remember in 2010, Spencer would continually get out of position with a little jump around move. Teams would run directly at him and get a large gain. It was purely selfish and undisciplined on Spencer's part. Once Garrett became coach, that stuff stopped.

We didn't hear players like Mike Jenkins say that they don't have to fight for their job because they know they are penciled in as the starter.

Criticize his strategy, eye for talent, inability to develop players or what have you. But he has been instilling great effort in his players from day one.

I certainly wouldn't criticize his eye for talent. The roster is much younger, ang no real talent has left the team. Spencer might be the exception, but Jerry might be the culpret there. Not all the draftees and FAs aregoing to be a home run, but a timely single or double may be all that is needed. This year's class has a lot of potential. Frederick, regardless of where he was drafted, is going to be a stud. I can't wait to see Romo exercise the WRs and TEs in Oakland
