He was getting after the guys today. Said they had a come to Jesus meeting with some of the guys this morning about the standards being met on the field.

Nice to hear that it's not all sunshine and daffodils after one preseason victory.

I think he's showing that if he gets fired he's going to go out doing it his way rather than be the nice polite guy trying to win friends.

I would think guys would be hustling, busting their butts, and flying around since everybody is either playing for a spot on the team, or for a spot as a starter.

I like Garrett and hope he works out long term but if he wasn't ready to do that on day one, then he wasn't ready for the job. Hopefully he is ready now.

It is an old phrase that means a meeting of minds. Everyone realizing the truth. For example you and boss have a meeting about giving a raise to bring you up market value. Him agreeing to pay you more is a coming to jesus meeting.

It isn't offensive, certainly not if you don't know what it is. lol. It's a confrontation with correction. Just a comparison.

I have no doubt that Garretts always gotten after the guys behind closed doors, that's just the nature of the NFL, but he's never called the guys out or said out loud that things weren't perfect in a press conference setting.

It's another level of accountability like J.J. Wilcox just experienced. Garrett said he didn't play well. Garrett has always stuck up for the guys before, now he's being more real out loud instead of a recorder.

Guys let down mentally at one point or another, just human nature. It's the role of the coaches to quickly put a stop to it when they see it because...

I'm glad. I always liked the Garrett hire yet felt he wasn't being all he can be. I lost some faith in him some along the way, like most Cowboys fans, over bad judgement and what not. I hope this is the real Garrett, the one we thought we were getting. He doesn't need to call plays, just lead men.

I have zero problem with the effort put forth by the team since Garrett has been the head coach. Particularly since he took over a roster that liked to relax with Wade in charge.

I remember in 2010, Spencer would continually get out of position with a little jump around move. Teams would run directly at him and get a large gain. It was purely selfish and undisciplined on Spencer's part. Once Garrett became coach, that stuff stopped.

We didn't hear players like Mike Jenkins say that they don't have to fight for their job because they know they are penciled in as the starter.

Criticize his strategy, eye for talent, inability to develop players or what have you. But he has been instilling great effort in his players from day one.

I would have to see it again.

But, I'm not going to blame a coach for one player that loafs (again, I'd have to see the play again) on one play.

Did you really have a problem with the effort of the team in 2012 and 2011? If so, I would like to hear specific instances where you felt this was a problem.

Early on seems Garrett is being more critical of his players and being more demanding. I don't know about things he has said in the locker room to players in the past but this training camp I am seeing a different approach he is taking with the team
