Hope we don't suffer the Texans fate

I haven't seen anything yet to suggest the cowboys are a good team, they still look closer to a four win team than a 12 win team. There's no reason for them to be overconfident.
Unfortunately I don't think it's overconfidence we have to worry about. I think the Bears are embarrassed and will come out with a vengeance and our defense hasn't shown it can stop the run. If they get into this game early and we start kicking field goals as usual, they will be in it throughout. Our defense seems to not have any identity yet and a good running back (Langford) could put us on our heels. Fox is no slouch and he will rally these guys to compete. I think we win 24-21 in a nail biter.

I just have this feeling Garrett feels like he satisfied the media/fan outrage over the terrible game-planning against the giants last Sunday, and he'll revert back to his conservative nature, and Dez will have like 3 targets. We play way more conservative at home.

This is my main reason why I do not like the patriots. That franchise no matter who they play they are successful. It goes to show from top to bottom of the organization they are doing it to perfection. I really wish dallas did it this way:banghead:

I probably sound jealous, and probably am (HA), but I do disagree in some ways. I think the whole Pats organization is shady as heck. Every year they must meet and say what are the new rules, and how can we exploit them to the nth degree without getting punished. They operate in dark grey areas, and have been caught and called out 3 times now. Imagine how many things they haven't been caught for.

In no way is my rant relevant to last night's game, curious what the answer is another poster asked, has anyone ever won a game w/ 2 fumbled kickoffs?

If you see a good team right now, then more power to you.

I think there's a ways to go. They can start by not having a close game with a team as bad as the Bears.

Did say I seen a good team. But they are better than a 4 win team.

Who actually said they were good? lol

I know what you mean, but he usual pundits on TV. A few comments they make have them in the SB. Actually I think a few predicted them to go to the SB.
My thoughts all along, they need to prove they are that good first. I just don't see it.
Just like Dallas needs to prove they can win the division, let alone advance in the playoffs.

lol. Your reaching....Garrett is still a turd!!!

Just pointing out it's possible. Before you were here, Garrett was compared to Kubiak regularly. That quieted down a bit after Kubiak went to Denver and had success for some reason. He just learned how to be a better coach, probably. The way Wade Wilson learned to be a better QB coach once Dak got here. :)

Yes. Funny how that works!!! In most normal situations,Belichick excluded, if a coach doesn't have the players he is not going to win.

Every play.

The Texans had horrible field position all game (starting tons of drives on the 10 yard line) and crossed the 50 only one time. Their inability to put together at least one scoring drive had everything to do with the Pats defense. Add in the special teams fumbling issues and the Texans were never in the game. Edelman could have been the QB and won that game.

He did what he had to in the beginning of the game. Got them a 10 point lead. By running 30 yards for the score I might add. Saying anyone could have done that is a blow off comment. He was a rookie and operated a complex offense to perfection with 4 days practice time. Well done.

YOu want to insult him for how he played, enjoy. I prefer to give credit where it is due regardless of whether I dont like the pats or not. Full respect to everything they do over there.

I'm sure many of us watched the Pats/Texans game last night.

It sure seemed to me the Texans were overly confident in that game..

playing a 3rd string QB seemed to have taken them out of the game.

I seems like they bought in to all the media hype about how much trouble the Pats were in.

Guess not.

Hope we don't commit the same mistake against the Bears.

Here's hoping.....

We were 4-12 last season and are lucky to be 1-1 right now. We have no business being over confident against anyone especially with our home record and Sunday Night record the past few years.

Yep...I think Garrett's a good coach, and this is a message board for discussing such topics.

And/or just making inane observations and using emoticons. It really depends.

I think Hoyer might be a better QB with that team than Cutler. Cutler just doesn't have the right mental makeup. Hoyer is much better in that aspect.

Hoyer has a tendency to focus on one receiver and go to him the majority of the time. And he does it very well. Once he locates Jeffreys on Carr we are in trouble.

That should be why you respect the Patriots. Polar opposite of the Dallas Cowbosys.

they used to, Belichik is the modern Landry and dare I say has surpassed him
This is really a debate for another time, but Bilichick didn't have to take an expansion team that didn't even get to participate in the draft in their initial season...Landry's first year roster consisted entirely of players that were castoffs from the rest of the league. It took a few years to get out of that hole. He then proceeded to run off twenty consecutive winning seasons. During one 13 year stretch (1970-82), he also took them to at least the NFC/NFL championship game 10 times. Bilichick has a ways to go to match him in those areas. Bilichick is a great coach, no question. Brady wouldn't be Brady and the Pats wouldn't be the Pats without him, but I'll take good ol' Smiley over him every time. JMO, of course...
