You can't....or at least shouldn't but, I don't remember the last time the Joneses asked for my advice.

You can’t. You have to let Dak play out the contract. Playing out the contract is not a bad thing. An extension would be Russ Wilson or Daniel Jones catastrophic type of mistake.
If we had a GM with some guts Dak would be "playing" out his contract on the bench while we get started looking for the next guy.

I’ve rode with Dak since day one. I wouldn’t extend him, and the Cowboys shouldn’t. It’s time to look for the future.

Time to head in another direction. Trade Dak and Parsons and get the best QB in the 2024 draft. The current formula won't get it done.

It took how long to admit JG was not a good head coach. Jerry is going to die on the hill before he ever admits he made a mistake with Dak. Insert more scapegoats

Yea I hear ya but he is scheduled to count 59 million next season. If we cut him the cap hit is 61 million. In 2025 the cap hit if he's cut is 36 million. Those are devastating numbers no matter how it's sliced up. One thing is for sure, it would be a massive mistake to extend or restructure at this point, just do what needs to be done and let's move past it all.
Just do a post June 1st cut and end it.

I don’t know how you could justify it at this point. Suddenly the acquisition of Lance is starting to make more sense, maybe the insider guys knew something about Dak. It’s clear this guy isn’t even a middle tier QB anymore there is no way you can pay him that kind of money and compete. There is no defense good enough, no receiver good enough to elevate Dak to that kind of pay and production.
I am not an insider guy and. i knew, for over 8 years now. How come you Cowboy Fans Never knew? What were you Fantasizing about while you were watching the games

Our choices are trade him or extend him. I would love to trade him for some draft capitol and find a new qb in the next draft to compete with Lance. I don’t think that’s going to happen. Jerry seems intent on riding Dak regardless of outcome.

You don't. So for those who want to move on from Dak, this game was fuel for that.

You lose either way. So what difference does it make.

Get a young cheap QB and ride out the dead money.

What other choice is there?
