How did we lose to SFO?

Its suppose to be a copy cat league. Hopefully they were paying attention. Deebo was hurt.....Trent was hurt. But I mean....still......they aren't the unbeatable juggernaut I thought they were.

Exactly and, if we play them in January, surely they can use these games (and maybe a trade for DH) to come up with something to get payback on them?

ESPN likes to crown teams week after week. Prisoners of the moment without any thought about the past and big picture. It's why I can't watch those shows anymore.

That's not how the league works. The Cowboys could look awful and lose to the Rams next week. Yet, turn around and whip the Eagles.
You're right but I feel like this year there's more parity than normal. Its literally a new team to beat every week and then they get their *** whooped lol. Its some truly crazy football going on. Even the Cowboys are drilling teams by 30 and 40 points then lose to the Cardinals. Dolphins beat the Broncos and score 70 points and lose to the Bills by 20. Then Bills lose to the Pats. 49ers losing to the Browns and Vikings. Eagles losing to the Jets. The talking heads can't even latch on to a team fast enough before a new favorite jumps up lol.

Off top Mahomes is the only guy I can think of that regardless of the competition he can wield his team back into a game with the help of his defense of course. I mean yesterday I just saw Josh Allen lose to a Patriots team that I thought had mentally checked out.
Patty has to be taken out of this conversation, but there are many that can do this: Josh, Justin H, Hurts, Tua...and a host of others over the last 5 years that have done this consistently but have since retired. Sure Allen giveith, and Allen can takeith away, and same can be said for Herbert. I haven't seen our QB giveith in quite some time though, and if I did, I could deal with the takeith aways, lolol. And before the world goes GaGa over Kirk, it would shock nobody if it tosses 3 int's next game

Maybe, but suppose Dallas at least splits with Philly, which we very well could do?
We better at least split with them. I assume we're going to lose some more games other than just Philly, and so will they but they have a 1 game lead right now. most of their toughest games are at home though so it depends on how they can hold up against the 49ers and Bills at home. Both look like they suck this week, but that could change. I think they'll definitely lose @Chiefs. Are we going to be able to steal one game at either Bills or Dolphins? Can we take care of business against Seattle, Detroit and Philly at home? Can we beat Washington on the road?

What happened is they peaked too early. We saw their full potential, they snoozed through last week, some guys got hurt, and they've managed to find themselves back down to earth. It's the NFL.

We see it every year where such and such team starts strong and fizzles out down the stretch. Another team catches fire late and makes a playoff push. Long story short, relax. The last two weeks of Niners games have no bearing on where our team stands now and later on down the stretch.

We have talent. I'd really like it if the FO brought in a couple of strong starters to plug some holes, but if the light is on, we can compete. Heads don't need to roll until we see how the season plays out.

I feel like the only team above that parity is the Chiefs, and that's partly because, like the Patriots with Tom Brady, their division has idiots for coaches.

They're not doing it this season. Herbert can't even win with a lead let alone coming back down big. Hurts is always in the lead lol...Josh Allen is always in the lead and when he's not they lose.

I can see us going 8-3 down that stretch. I think we beat the Rams, split with Philly, beat the Giants, beat the Panthers, sweep Washington, beat Seattle, and beat Detroit. However, I think we lose to Buffalo and Miami (as well as the split with Philly). The only question is, will that be enough to win the division? We would be 12-5 if my prediction is correct.

Agreed. The gameplan against San Fran was so basic it was pathetic. The two playoff loses to them were one score games so it really stung.
It was so bad that if someone told me we went vanilla like a preseason game because we didn't want to show anything to the 9ers i'd believe it. It was just bad.

Not teams the caliber of the 49ers. Teams that good typically don't lose 2 games in a row. Hell the Cowboys don't even do it.
Oh stop yes they do. Good teams can lose 2 games in a row. Did you start watching football last week? Stop with this foolish nonsense.

Herbert is a mess, but I forgive him due to the existence of the worst OL and HC in the history of the NFL. I will say this much about Allen. For as much hype as this guy gets, he doesn't get anywhree near the criticism that Dak does. Dak has never been put on the pedastal Allen was put on when drafted, yet here we are. Take it a step further, are we really sure both Herbert and Allen are better than Dak?

Lost Diggs, Tyron, Biadiz and Zack all in the same week we lost to the Cardinals....no mention of it lol.

Starting offensive line didn't play together for 2 years, until a couple of weeks ago. The haters swept that under the rug in player performance discussions though....

I wonder does the loss tonight force them into thinking their shot is even closer then they initially thought.

If it is, then Jerry needs to pull the trigger on DH. Our run game is our most glaring weakness. I think using a second or a third on DH is a must. It's a countermeasure to the Eagles trade, and it solves the one weakness our offense has.

That would mean Philly would have to lose at least 4 more games for both to have a 12-5 record (then it would come down to tiebreakers) or 5 games for us to win the division out right. I'm not sure, we'll see.

Ouch they went into OT with the Commanders so should be a tough game. But sheesh.....Dallas, KC, Buffalo, SF.....then back to Dallas and Seattle? The Cowboys have to catch them in that stretch. I mean the Eagles could win all those games....could also lose all of them if theyp lay how they've been playing. I think you hope for at least 3 losses there.
