How do you build around 3 players making up 50% of Cap?

You can totally win if you had a QB, WR and DE taking up 50% but you would need to do the following:

1. Spread out the rest of the money and focus on quality depth throughout.
2. The big 3 do not get to cry about not having enough help. They work as hard as humanly possible and they set a standard that is so high that they elevate the entire team.

IMHO those 2 things do not happen. If anything the opposite happens.

Maybe not but your other alternative is basically starting over at QB. And that’s assuming you can find or draft one. Not much need for that WR1 without one .
This is why most teams cave for their QB. The better the QB the easier to build around .
I’m not sure why more teams don’t plan for the possibility of losing or letting go of their Franchise QB by continuing to draft other potential heir apparent.
That's exactly what they should've been doing and still should. If they had, they wouldn't be in this stupid mess.

And Mahomes did that, he made do with the rooks and type 2 WRs.
The question becomes, can Dak make do with the same?
Nope...he cannot. And neither can 90% of the other QBs in the NFL. That does not change the BUSINESS side of the game

Either you want to manage the business side of the game, or you don't. The Cowboys do a great job of managing the business side of making money....better than anybody else. Now they want us to be sympathetic to the challenge they have managing the business side of paying their employees (who pave the way for them to make more than anybody else)

Since it's never worked that way, why do you think it suddenly would?

Did GM Jethro sign the contract?
That’s the point, isn’t it? Jerry Jones does not plan ahead. He waited, Dak’s agent then was dictating to Jerry. Recently, the Lions paid their WR1. Eagles quickly gave their WR1 an extension for more. Vikings gave their WR1 even more than that. In effect, the Vikings franchise just told Jerry Jones what he’s going to pay CeeDee. Jerry Jones does not make things happen. He lets the other teams make things happen and he follows. (after the leaves have fallen). Teams that try to make things happen make as many bad decisions as good ones, but they don’t go decades without a few seasons where they at least get close.

So somehow this is Dak's fault? If your boss is an idiot and over pays you it's your fault some how.

This is what we are looking at if we resign Lamb, Prescott and Parsons.

Even our dysfunctional ownership has mentioned this in our 1st week at Training Camp.

I’m not sure any Franchise has ever attempted such a task?

We couldn’t build around them on Rookie contracts , how do you if they are about half of your Cap. I’m all ears people!!
We all disagree how ownership team builds, but it is possible the way they do it. The draft is where you find the cheapest talent and control players who several years at a below market level rate. If you draft well, you groom their replacement and turn over the roster. This strategy only works if you hit on your draft picks, which every team does not. What happens when they draft a bust? It sets them back drasticially as they don't use fa to fill the need.

Problem with our team is we don't have a QB that can carry a team, We have a QB that needs the team to carry him.

Because what does that change? Everyone else is just going about the business of signing their QBs....or in the case of the Vikings letting him walk!!!

If you(Jerry Jones) don't want to pay it....then don't. Why is that so hard for you, Jerry and the other Jerry apologists to understand?

I have made a decision that I don't like how this team is run. What has that changed? Nothing! So I.....I.....decided to not step foot in that stadium until I....I....feel the team is being run by a football operation. Complaining about it was not going to change anything...so I decided to do something about it.
Jerry apologist? Dude, get off the drugs.

None of our posts change anything. You're posting nonsensical garbage, and then went to lying and name calling for no reason. You're weird, dude.

Assuming a cap next year of $275m in 2025, assuming Micah is signed, you're talking about $46m cap hits for each of these guys lol.

Their combined cap hit will be closer to $60m than $140m. Tyreek Hill had cap hits of $6m and $13m his first two years in MIA.

Refusing to understand that cap hit and AAV are not the same is CRAZY. Worrying about 3 players taking 50% of the cap is just ignoring the reality of how NFL contracts work and making up problems.
Refusing to understand that we couldn't afford any FA's because of our spending is ignoring an even bigger reality.

Agree but our number 2’s needs to be able to get off the line first and foremost and get separation.
We are terrible at picking WR's outside the first round. Except Gallup. So, we think we just have to have some highflying high volume WR. So every draft pick we spend on WRs is looking for a deep threat. Meanwhile, Rams are finding the Pacua's and Kupp's in the mid rounds. Slow guys, but great route runners. Does Jerry even understand what route running and how it affects your O?

I don't "care" about their finances. I'm against organizations hiding behind players asking for their market value as a reason they don't win and/or re-sign players.
So, it's not about being a fan of the team for you. OK.
