How do you build around 3 players making up 50% of Cap?

No, why should I stop telling fans the market is out of whack?
Because what does that change? Everyone else is just going about the business of signing their QBs....or in the case of the Vikings letting him walk!!!

If you(Jerry Jones) don't want to pay it....then don't. Why is that so hard for you, Jerry and the other Jerry apologists to understand?

I have made a decision that I don't like how this team is run. What has that changed? Nothing! So I.....I.....decided to not step foot in that stadium until I....I....feel the team is being run by a football operation. Complaining about it was not going to change anything...so I decided to do something about it.

there is a difference between cap management and averages.....other teams pay out, but they manage the cap year to year...yes money gets pushed down the line.

How did philly end up with so many top 5 paid contracts? yet they are under the cap?

I swear, people on this site!!!
That is one of the reasons the Cowboys are in a mess with the cap. They pushed Daks contract down the road and here we are. Yea, some people on this site!!!!

well every team and I mean every team gets in that position. that's how the cap is manipulated. and every team at some point has to deal with it. the goal is to put a team together to compete for a few years and then take the big hits and rebuild. the challenge is that Cowboys didn't win anything. but Dak's cap hit was 27,19,17 M the past 3 years. but people's focus was on average total. now, its on actual cap hit.

The market is the market. It isn't out of whack.

You just undervalue QB play.
Yea , it’s amazing how high teams value having a Franchise QB even if they aren’t Elite. It’s simple economics with supply and demand.

Basically there is two types of teams in the NFL. Ones looking for a Franchise QB and those trying to build around one best they can. Of course the greater they are easier to build around .

Unfortunately the demand is so high for Franchise QB’s that even these much less than Elite QB are paid similar to Elite or Market Price cause the alternatives place them back in the other group of teams looking for one . And those looking will gladly snatch them up.

QB’s contracts aren’t necessarily a representation of their pecking order but rather when they signed as Market Price increases each season with Cap.

Back in 2021 Dak had one of the highest contracts . But each season continues to drop in ranks. Just 3 years later it’s 14th highest.

Surprisingly there aren’t more teams who draft heir apparent in place which provides teams the ability for more choices without having to start completely over . Packers have been a good example this era.

Yep and why they need to resign him now for Cap relief.

Unfortunately we didn’t plan for a potential heir apparent we’d been grooming to take over .

I’m surprised more teams don’t continue drafting for heir apparent in place which would provide teams more options and not forced to cave in.

Assuming a cap next year of $275m in 2025, assuming Micah is signed, you're talking about $46m cap hits for each of these guys lol.

Their combined cap hit will be closer to $60m than $140m. Tyreek Hill had cap hits of $6m and $13m his first two years in MIA.

Refusing to understand that cap hit and AAV are not the same is CRAZY. Worrying about 3 players taking 50% of the cap is just ignoring the reality of how NFL contracts work and making up problems.
Thank you! It's completely ignoring void years and a consistently rising cap as well. Jerry loves these guys for carrying his water.

They didn't win anything when Daks cap hit was lower and they wont win with it higher.

so not saying that is not true. we missed our window. we missed our window for 28 years counting.

but this was about having 3 stars on the team and people claiming they cound 50% of the cap. they obviously don't understand how cap works.
I think they get it and don’t care. Jethro believes Star players puts butts in the seats and helps hype his iconic label remaining relative and interesting.

we act like we're too scared to let players go or trade them! There's always the sweet talk from the owners on how much we love them and are working hard to do this and that, NO if it's hurting your team or can, let them go!
This is the main reason why Jerry sucks as a GM. We just love our guys and will over pay so when they end up sucking like Michael Gallup or Zeke did we have no choice but the cut them because their contract makes them untradeable.

That's why KC dumped Hill. They did not want to. Then they franchised Jones for a year while some salary cap space cleared up, kicked Mahomes's salary down the road, and signed the Defensive guy. Which is what you are forced to do.
Your QB will have to make do w/ rooks and #2 type WRs.
And Mahomes did that, he made do with the rooks and type 2 WRs.
The question becomes, can Dak make do with the same?

This is what we are looking at if we resign Lamb, Prescott and Parsons.

Even our dysfunctional ownership has mentioned this in our 1st week at Training Camp.

I’m not sure any Franchise has ever attempted such a task?

We couldn’t build around them on Rookie contracts , how do you if they are about half of your Cap. I’m all ears people!!
How? With the other 50%.

And 40 mil plus whatever he signs for next season.

Strange how so many fans cannot comprehend how badly Dak screwed us w/ his contract.
Yeah but, but, just pay da man!
The cap isn't our business, let THEM figure it out.
Just pay da man!

Maybe not but your other alternative is basically starting over at QB. And that’s assuming you can find or draft one. Not much need for that WR1 without one .

This is why most teams cave for their QB. The better the QB the easier to build around .

I’m not sure why more teams don’t plan for the possibility of losing or letting go of their Franchise QB by continuing to draft other potential heir apparent.
